@jswatts72 if you connect a n router and a g router together on one modem will the n router become slower, can you please answer, thanks for your help?
let me ask you does the 2nd router's wireless work? or just the lan ports work?
i've done this kind of thing few times but with ethernet over power lines + a wireless router on the second mains plug with wireless also working on the 2nd one
and i set the gateways 1st router 192.168.1.1 and 2nd 192.168.2.254
if i don't change the last 2 digits it wont work.. how come?
Is it possible that i can have 2 routers, like one for my brother and family, and one for me? Because my family does a lot of downloading and uploading and its always slowing down my connection on my Xbox 360 when playing online.
@assassinjackson22 istn gonna help... if anything will make internet connection VERY slow for the 2nd router.setting up QoS on your router might help alittle bit.if not than your conneciton speed must be too slow for the amount of users you have online at one time.. look into upgrading if you can.. that should help. pretty much all home LANs only need one router out to the internet thats it... from where you can connect all the devices you want via wireless or though a switch
ok i dident understand nothing of this i tell u my issu and u trying to help i have one modem and two routers with switch box of 8 lans how do i connect both of the routers well they have two different ip adress to the switch of 8 lans and to the modem thx....
Awesome and very easy to follow instructions, especially near the end of your video before you wrapped everything up. This saved me months of headaches to figure my problem out. God bless dude!
Excellent video help me set up a wired router to router link. Thanks. Great one to remember is to change the ip addresses on each router by changing the third octet rather than the forth. This is where I was going wrong.
@yankie I've never even used an airport it either works the same as a router allowing multiple wireless connections or it acts as wireless bridge just taking the one Ethernet connection and broadcasting it wirelessly. If it's a bridge then you should be able to just plug and play. If it's a router then after you configure it like how I did my wireless router it should work.
Ok, well all routers should have a way of changing the LAN address. So for the network to work every computer should have a unique address. Thus change the LAN address of each connected router to something different. Furthermore change the subnet mask to allow only a smaller subset of addresses. Play around with different ip and sub masks to get the concept.
@5ANCH3Z1 im not sure why having 2 PS3s on one router is a problem. But you could try moving one off to a different router. I have 1 PS3 and it was unaffected by this change.
I have had problems with 2 PS3 consoles running at the same time one the same wireless router. I was told that having two separate routers, one for each console, would fix it. I think it's what you're demonstrating on this video and I want to know if you think this method will fix it or at least help in some way.

Please make a new video without filming your screen. But film it with your computer.
