  • If they advertised this vehicle more with commecials and posters...i think it may have had better sales. Sucks because i actually like this truck but i wouldn't get it because it would be much harder to find parts in the long run! i wish they would bring this back!

  • Wow 2 years and discontinued.. Well I guess the Sorento will do for now.. Kinda looked like a Ford Explorer anyway. BTW Ford did have shares in KIA for quite some time. Starting in 1986, in partnership with Ford, Kia produced several Mazda derived vehicles for both domestic sales in South Korea into other countries. These models include the Pride based on the Mazda 121 and Avella, which were sold in North America and Australasia as the Ford Festiva and Ford Aspire. Until Hyundai got it..

  • @soyntgo4it What happened to it? It seemed like a monster (and I have a Dodge Hemi Durango)

  • @mrmaturitydelinquent They only sold 10,000 of the production models they made

  • @soyntgo4it Damn you crossovers....

  • i miss the epic theme music, and the 'Well hello there!' from the 1990's MW...

  • @yynotnnh The 4.6 Liter V8 is not a Ford Engine....it's a Hyundai Tau Engine the same engine used in the 4.6 Genesis.

  • the 2008-present Kia Borrego is assembled in

    Hwasung, South Korea

    Kaliningrad, Russia

    Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan

  • my mom bought a borrego a year or so ago for 25k (good price), not bad considering its a V8 that can tow ~7000-8000lbs. (also got a good warranty) Its moderately fast for an SUV, though I dislike how the auto trans shifts so I use the sports shift mostly. 0-60 is around 9 sec I think.

so far it has only gone to the shop for maintenance and snow tires...

  • Kia can make a V8, and Honda can't....... Ridiculous.

  • @blacuraRL it's a Hyundai Engine.

  • @form109 I suppose, but really they're one in the same. A disgrace nonetheless on Honda's part :)

  • @blacuraRL Honda could also stand some more Rear Wheel Drive cars in it's lineup.....i think the only RWD Honda's were the Acura NSX and the Honda S2000.

  • @form109 Agreed!

  • @blacuraRL But they do. They also own Acura.

  • @heroheroic Acura doesn't have a V8. They never did. At least not one that has been mass produced for people like you and me to buy. Concept cars don't count.

  • @blacuraRL And I own the most expensive Acura they make, the flagship RL. It only has a 3.7 V6

  • @blacuraRL v8 for racing.....not civillian use.....remember, honda like to keep it cheap and conservative xD

  • It actually doesnt seem that bad, but Id still wouldnt own one over a Sequoia or Suburban.

  • I think it kinda looks like the 2002-2010 Explorer

  • @VIRAJ818 lol are you blind? It looks nothing like that car.

  • @YunSeung Of course it does. Not totally, but most parts do. It looks nice though.

  • @VIRAJ818 In that case, you could say that "some parts" of the Porsche Cayenne looks just like the Hyundai Tuscon. In my opinion, Borrego looks more like the Audi Q5 in facial structure.

  • @VIRAJ818 thats what my dad thinks. where do you see that?

  • we have one of these with the v8 its amazing.

  • It's a nice vehicle, and I've only owned explorers as my SUV of choice but now that they're switching it to be a car, this may well end up in my driveway someday even though I've only ever been for American made.

  • Looks fantastic.

  • just got to say i just bought one of these and going from a honda pilot its a amazing suv..

  • exelente torque bajo consumo para el motor buena linea

  • I liked it. Shame that you Americans don't have the option of the V6 turbodiesel version.

  • WONDWERFUL !!!!

  • This SUV would look far more attractive if Motorweek hadnt featured it in that disgusting orange paint color.

  • That's the Propaganda, Mate.. Welcome to Mind Control TV.. It's like they're saying, "hate this car".. Test drove one from the showroom, along with 8 other SUVs/CUVs.. Great power and handling. Looks nice in Black..

  • I actually like this SUV. Kia has really gotten it's act together. A V8? Honda doesn't even have one.

  • I just can't wait what the next model would look like.. And the Standard Equipments!!!

  • @DJFG85

Honda uses a very powerful V8 in its race car? Why not use it in a commercial car?

  • It reminds me of a 1990s Jeep Grand Cherokee

  • What does Korea have to do with it? The Borrego was designed in the USA by Americans. LOL. If you want to go that route, then I guess MB S-Class copied the rear of a Galant. I believe Acura MDX copied the Audi Q7 and I also believe the 09 Accord front facia copied the 06 Sonata. Every automaker copies, your just blinded by Kia's past. Look at the A, B, and the C pillar and tell me then what car resembles the Borrego.

  • I guess you dont know that Kia's head designer is Peter S. who use to design cars for VW/Audi. LOL. At least Korean automakers can support themselves while British automakers are going down the drain and having to rely on foreign automakers to keep them above waters.

  • Lexus? You have got to be kidding. Do you not know anything about cars design? If not then why are you talking as if you do? Lexus. Got to be joking. Lexus has class and its designs are unique. So what are you saying about Lexus? Lets see here pal. There are over how many automakers in the world? Eventually its bound to happen that they''re is going to be similar looking automakers. EVERYAUTOMAKER COPIES. Look at the Hyundai Assurance Plan, now GM and Chrysler has their own version. Think buddy.

  • @jamesysam002 just like u copy from ur friends work and hand in ;) no way~ get a life bro

  • This was actually designed by an Audi designer

  • @DJFG85

ex Audi. You are partly right.

  • Chrysler Aspen? WTF. Are you blind my friend? The Borrego looks nothing like a Aspen. Sequoia? Umm...The Sequoia's rear set up is alot different from the Borrego?

  • It's an SUV. That's irrelevant.

  • I'm sure there will still be a market for body on frame SUV though not like it was before gas went up. But there are still people that have trailers and campers to tow. There nothing like a tuff Body on Frame based vehicle to get the job done.

  • very precious information in few minutes thankyou.

  • Why would KIA name a car BORREGO!

BORREGO means goat in spanish, and its an ugly word in spanish to say the least.

  • It is Borrego in the US. In Europe is The Mohave. So don't worry my shepherd friend that your car will be called a goat. LOL. With V8 ahah

  • Kia plans to deliver a 3.0L disel powered Boreggo by 2010. I say, send the Hybrid instead. There's no way I'd spend more money on a weaker engine. But a Hybrid Boreggo, now that's another story.

  • Ithink they'll make a hybrid Borrego cuz they're currently working on a hybrid KIA soul. Once they get the hang of hybrids their all cars will have hybrid option.
