  • The bottom line is that God wants us to be holy, yes, but If you preach standards and we are only following them because of being told, then that is for the wrong reason!!! Holiness is from the inside out, and if you are truly holy on the inside, then it WILL show on the outside!!!!! I firmly believe in being seperated from this world, and alot of times that is not what we are doing! We are trying to blend in, when we were made to stand out!!! I am NOT ASHAMED of being Holy Ghost filled. :) :)

  • and dont even get me started on standards. Pants arent a sin, im sorry. Stop throwing that on people. Just because you believe doesnt mean it's right. God moves in other denominations too, UPC isnt the only way Im sorry.

  • @uniteignite500 If you have nerver recieved the Holy Ghost, and proof by speaking in other tongues, then you will not understand what and why we dress, act, and present ourselves. Yes, you are right that the UPC isn't the only way. Our true salvation lies in the Word of God. Search out your own Salvation, but just make sure that it lines up with the word of God. God bless you.

  • wow the harshness of some of you guys makes me sick to my stomach. I am a christian, attend church three times a week, and stay away from the negative things of this life. But mixed swimming? seriously? grow up people. Be the church, not a group that everyone cant stand. God=love, and that's what were supposed to be. Lets grow up a bit.

  • @ElohimLee I'm not even sure what your arguement is. I agree with your last post. I've heard of girls and guys being expelled from Colleges for not keeping the standard. Let's just let them do there job.

  • @ElohimLee That's not judging, when you don't do something the Bible says it's wrong. That's a simple fact. You can't pray someone changes? Why? That's insane. If you force someone to do it, they're not going to do it with a Good heart, and God will not honor it. It's judging to come on here on the world wide web, and talk about Girls who should be expelled from Gateway. Just keep that stuff to yourself. No one wants to hear that.

  • @ElohimLee You don't have to tell me the standards, I know them, and humbly I can say I graciously obey them. The only thing I'm saying is, in leadership, we should choose our battles wisely. Keep preaching the standards. If someone doesn't wanna follow. Hopefully God will convict there hearts. I argree fake nails look hideous and all that. What I'm saying is, don't Judge. Live your life according the the Bible, and let God deal with them. Thats what I do when people are wrong.

  • @ElohimLee And the thing you said about Gateway.

Just because you saw girls with fake finger-nails doesn't mean leadership did. I know at IBC when people didn't follow the standards, they were asked to change it. And if they refused, they wouldn't be allowed to go to that school, because they signed a paper saying they wouldn't do that kind of stuff. How can it be the organizations fault? Its' the certain people who choose not to follows fault.

I think its amazing they we have standards

  • @ElohimLee We do enforce the standards. However, we're not a cult. If someone doesnt obey the standards, we don't kick them out, or disfellowship them. We just pray they would seek more Holiness like we all need. The UPC isn't promoting opportunities for young girls to be raped. That's insane.

Young girls are on the Platform because they have a talent. My church keeps the standards too. Your going to get various forms of standards in different churches. We need not judge them.

  • @ElohimLee We preach against all of those. It's not our fault if they don't follow it. Don't judge a certain people who doesn't participate into our entire organization. We preach against all of those. And it will not change.

  • @ElohimLee

You are possibly focusing on the wrong issue. Standards are led by a board of directors for those who have platform ministries and such. If their board is ok with what they wear...why focus? Indeed the real issue is why are we here? Not to condemn a dress code (which mind you is done by almost every business around the world), but rather reach out to those who are lost. And by the look of those in the phils...it's working.

  • @jazzajj Wonderfully said. I believe we should keep the standards. And it's very important, but we can't force people to do it. So we keep trying to reach the lost.

  • UPC Phils is indeed growing in number! We expect more harvest in the years to come...

  • look how huge that crowd is wow!!!!

  • so nice tlaga
