@Shakespeare1612 Wow there were a lot of games in this video. I suggest google searching them from the paused credits if you are willing. A lot of these developers go to the PascalGameDevelopment dawt com website to discuss and share their game development projects with each other. It's a great community and everyone is pretty friendly and helpful to talk to. Right now the top game dev tools for Object Pascal/Delphi is Delphi, Free Pascal, Lazarus and maybe Prism.

I have to learn delphi in school. Delphi 7.

One thing: I hate the " ; " -.-"

I played aroudn with AutoIt, I guess I shoudl rather go with basic.

Btw is it possible to create rather complex games with a Delphi 7 (school-) light version? I'm pretty sure I need mroe than delphi, so what do I need?

W00t? Are Soldat and Crimson made in Delphi? I could not have guessed.

There was other cool stuff in there also, but none of what I'm familiar of ( I'm not a big gamer, I know like half-life and Tetris ).

I maybe should have stuck to Delphi/Pascal instead of drifting towards C++, less shooting of your foot and waiting ( Pascal was specially designed for that, and fast / easy parsing and compiling ).

I remember the Denthor tutorials for pascal, does anybody have a copy lying around?

For me, i prefer c++, i love it, using SDL is fkin awesoome, after learning with sdl move to OpenGL! And then DirectX!

C++ And Delphi are different. Its your choice. Most of the best games are programmed in C++.

@predatortheme Hm... i would say that depends on YOU. Nobody can say "that is easier to learn then..." they're both, great programming languages. If you understand the C++ syntax better, then stay there and learn c++. ;)

Check out some of the newer things that has been done with it lately. It's making a slow but gradual comback with such things as Delphi Prism and Delphi 2009, just give it some time. :)

delphi is awsome, but for games? I mean these titles aren't exactly selling it to me.

I think games themselves are gonna be coded in c++ for the forseeable future but higher level languages give huge advantages in doing scripting and stuff, like how oblivion works.
