@DDGALA0422 From what I have seen it is easy. You just need a battery for the roto start. there is a primer bulb on the tank.

@zmattos00 sc8s come with elec's. when i got mine the servos didnt work.. and now ive replaced the reciever with a spektrum unit and controller. still works great. engine started within five minutes of not running all winter and no after run oil.

now the summit vs.sc8. it all depends on what you do since they are 2 completellyyy different vehicles. sc8- nitro/low to ground/ fassttt/ more for racing summit- elec./ good ground clearance/ slow(ish)/ meant for trailing and bashing.

@zmattos00 ok, i see exactly what youre saying, since you have a 4x4 with a brushless system that you can really make power with.. which would be the sc8, get the summit. you already have all the charging equipment( im assuming) and batteries. also idk what you know about nitro engines but if youre not real familiar with them i would recommend electric. idk just my input hopefully it helps.

alright. we can agree to disagree cuz obviously you dont see my points and cant get it through your head that the sc8 is better. the tmaxx's have plastic drive shafts even so either you dont know materials or your makin stuff up. my mistake on the trans. i forgot traxxas only has a 2 speed. a metal roll cage wold be pointless and either way it has no impact on performance.

and i alreadys explained that ae has a startin system equivalent to the ez-start and its proven that motors run better with a normal backplate rather than the ones traxxas puts on with their ez-start system.

ahaha. thats what your basing it on? what a noob answer. first, slayer has a 3 speed trans. my truck will do about 45 with the single speed and will own you off the line. also its better for drifting since the auto trans does shift and bog. next, the slayer is mostly plastic. sc8 has aluminum shock towers, beefy rod ends, sealed shocks/hub carriers/half shafts. sway bars-stock. heavy duty castor blocks, and bushings in the a-arm pivot points. servos are also better. anything else you wanna say?

drive shafts arent plastic either, comes with a primer bulb as well as an equivalent ez-start system. plus a relocated glow igniter and awesome mud flaps :\7 theres a bunch more things but my hands are tired.

i didnt break it in like your supposed to. once i got it to idle, i drove it around slowly for a few tanks, periodically giving it more throttle. however, i think this is the most durable, easy to use engine i have ever played with.

i believe the sc10 uses a 12mm hex, and the sc8 uses a 17mm hex. either 17 or 23..

sounds like a really good deal. new? if so thats an amazing deal for the truck, but its not as new anymore and the hype about it has kinda faded so that might also be why the price has dropped.

haha yeah its a real nice truck. but when i break in my engine i honestly dont do it the way youre supposed to i just run it easy get on it here and there and the engine runs perfect as do all the other engines ive done that with. i do keep it rich though for a few tanks.

It all depends what youre doing with it and what your budget is. you can make electric just as fast or faster and get longer run times with some of these huge batteries they have out

i have not unfortunately.. 1. the servos that came with it were totally crap 2. the weather here in Illinois hasn't been warm enough. but ill take a vid of a good run once its broken in.

i have no idea, they were just dead. we tried two different changes of batteries. we tried different servos to make sure it was them and not the batteries or reciever/controller. sent 'em in to ae we'll see what happens here shortly -3/3/09
