  • This is a weird ass movie that make no sense . Another Saw movie, just with a different name.

  • Nonsense

  • Really? That's what all the hubub was about? I'm glad I didn't pay to see it. The "otherworld"...what a joke. The movie didn't make me sick, all the great pub people are giving it is what brings on a sense of nausea. Just another reason to back up the long lived statement of, "the French are not to be trusted". It appears the French put as much effort into movie making as they did when they rolled over and turned their back on the British in WW2 when they signed the armistice. What a waste.

  • PAN!

  • after watching this not only am I disturbed Im confused as all hell too.

  • Seriously the weirdest most fucked up film ever. I don't really think I even understood it.

  • what's the fucking point in seeing the "otherworld" and wasting 17 years of THIS life?

  • what the fuck did i just watch this movie was trash i wasted 2 hours of my life to a movie that was below mediocre the only thing that was worth was the ending i dont get why ppl say its a good movie its so retarded

  • Thank you for sharing this movie! magnificent. now one of my favorite horror films.

  • What a stupid fucking movie. Let's skin a bunch of young girls so they can see heaven- then we'll get all the ole' biddies together and talk about it over a spot of fucking tea... The ass-holes that made this movie should be dragged behind a car until there's nothing left but the chains. Bloody fucking idiots...

  • I have to say that after watching this movie, I shall never be the same again but that it was a superb film. People may call it torture-porn but the difference between those kind of movies and this one was that this one had an actual storyline. Nevertheless, if I was in Anna's position I would've probably tried to kill any of those psychos...

  • The shotgun scene....FUCKING AWESOME! Sexy bitches and guns, nice! But seriously this film was a bit extreme in some cases for me personally, but still quite a riveting watch. 9/10

  • great film, who cares if there are gorier films etc.this horror movie is original and takes you there.

  • Wow this movie was crazy!

  • 05:08 It seems that Anna is still alive and has a 2nd vision.

  • i didn't watch it, i just came here to tell all of you your sick and fucked up people for watching this whole movie, this is pure torture trash this is sick and fucked up retarded bullshit

  • @DJPolair go burn a book you fucknut

  • @DJPolair *insert fake Russian accent here* Is funny cos no idea what talking about!

  • @DJPolair Stop being a little pussy, grow up

  • sounds like the 28 days later score...

  • @methtastesgood It is indeed lifted from "28 Days Later" they just remixed and up its tempo/chord a bit.

  • The end is set up for you to come up with what you thin Anna said. Sorry, its a thinkers finish, not a spoon feed finish.

  • So... Why did she kill herself after 17 years of research? Was what anna told her too fucked up for her to handle or something? Anyways, this movie started off well, but the end turned repetitive and dumb. 6/10.

  • @Coolestgoose

Because she told her that there is nothing after death. Absolutely nothing. 17 years of 'research' and nothing. So, the sadistic old witch killed herself.

  • Those well dressed rich people goin' straight to Hell. Nazi Euro Trash Pagan Satan worshipers

  • i don't understand is anna still alive and how much longer can she live like that this really is one of the worst endings that i have ever seen it means nothing making the film feel pointless

  • Poor movie. Neither shocking nor scary, and too pretentious.

  • @ValAktaion lol, best review of this movie i read said "this movie is only good for one thing; watch it with everyone you know, and if they say they find it deep or meaningful, you know you should get that sick fuck out of your life."

  • @MyGwendel

Looooooool. Dumb shit reviewer, that was.

  • Finally, a horror I couldn't predict at every turn. Although I still would've tried to strangle one or two of them with my chain. Good movie.

  • @PsychoFreak99 What are you talking about! I've never seen the movie. Yet i saw that suicide a mile away.

  • This movie really topped way over my expectations. From what I had heard about it in forehand I thought it was going to be slow and boring with a few breaf moments of "action" so to say but instead it was great! I will buy it for my collection but, of course, the French version.

  • Am i the only one who thinks the song at 2:00 sounds like the song in 28 days/weeks later ?

  • Personally I think that Anna told her the "otherworld" was beautiful and wonderful and because they did that to her they would NEVER see it. So she killed herself. My theory only of course. I hated the ending!!!! GAHHHHHHHHH well at least I got to see this finally so thank you!

  • I read a review that said this movie leaves an extremely satisfying ending...maybe they were stupid, that was a terrible ending!!!!!! What did she see and then say????????????? Terrible terrible!!!!

  • I just have one thing to say.WTF!!!!!?????? Can I get my money back from Netflix, damn it?

  • the funniest part is none of those cruel mother fuckers ever get to go to the other world cause they get to burn in hell lol great movie ty for posting

  • see? all luxury cars. rich people are just fuckin evil.

  • wow how she get that killer 6 pack?

  • The message was "Heaven looks just like you're staring into a dentist's overhead light for eternity."

  • i wish i never seen this fu*k*ng movie..

  • scariest movie ive ever seen! brilliant!

  • she never lied, the old lady killed herself so that she could get there

  • buenasa!!!!!11

  • really..? all of a sudden she just killed herself..? why..?

  • I think Anna told Madam that she didn't see anything, and that's why she killed herself.

  • @GenerationBright I think she did tell her something otherwise why would madam say to the guy "keep doubting" before killing herself? because she probably wanted to keep whatever the girl anna said to herself. Personally, I hated the ending!!!!!

  • That waz fucking crazy who the fuck would do that? People that would ever do that are crazy fuckers!!!!!

  • @glennia1951 yeah, but war is ok, right? lol. there are people doing shit like this EVERY DAY. and they don't feel bad about it. anyone who enjoys this movie should join the police force or the military.

  • @MyGwendel You're such a dumb fuck. People don't do this every day. Military and police don't do this.

  • @thegretien maybe you should get off utube for a minute and read a fucking newspaper, dude. If you can read. Ever heard of Abu Ghraib?

  • that was horrid

  • This movie was extremely depressing.

  • WHAT on earth did i just watch? ...

  • @Weezyy445 an horror movie.

  • i wonder how she manage to escaped after her skin peel off?

  • i don't see how these people differ from real-life bankers, freemasons, politicians, millitary leaders etc.

  • Comment removed

  • @mitsotakis893 ok, its really not like that budy.

  • i dont get it.what did she tell the old lady?why did she kill herself?

  • Stupid french woman she shot stright thoru her neck that bitch could still be alive

  • @Ciaranpz saw the american dub, i liked it

  • if god really existed then why would he make people go thru sure emence pain an torture jus to expirience it, i dont get it. this is why all this religious shit scares me, its supposed to be a nice peaceful thing but it really isent !!! ugh shivers

  • @jessieboo4u please, dont be close minded. Not all religions are like that, you always have a choice.

  • Thatguygus, thank you for posting this profoundly awful waste of film. Moral of the story? You'll be more moved by watching a clogged toilet overflow.

  • @TxDurdenx this is youtube, nobody ever forced you to watch anything here and im sure nobody cares about your "moral of the story".

  • this was worse then the human centipede!

  • @madznation That was a hollywood rip off .. this is a masterpiece!

  • @jrt2007gjdje I agree! I love this movie and am kinda sad that they're remaking it in america :( but these people are distubed, torturing her for no freaking reason other then to see past life.. if they want to know so badly why don't they volunteer ! ! !

  • @madznation there remaking this movie??

  • @nrsheart yes! :( Oh well. It might be good.. (google martyrs 2012 remake for more info) :]

  • @Ciaranpz Ummm, the dubs are for ALL English speakers, not just Americans. Idiot.

  • 28 days later early tune!

  • The guy who made this movie was originally suppose to make the Hellraiser remake!

  • @Ciaranpz

Using big words like "profound" after watching this crap will only prove you never enjoyed a trully profound movie.

Soon people will say that even 'Twilight' is profound ,for God's sake. Outrageous

  • @MySweetSeoul im sure your Korean dramas are very profound movies.

  • @TheKrustaceox

Those dramas are SERIES,not movies. you should have just stayed quiet ,now you made a fool of yourself for not being able to make the difference between series and movies. But here, I'll forget your mistake and i'll consider that you wrote about my movies instead of my series, and I will answer you : yes, my movies are very profound movies.

  • @MySweetSeoul sorry for hurting your feelings, Korean emo :(

  • @TheKrustaceox

    Ok,I forgive you.

  • wats up with it mostly old women?

  • ihave nvr seen so many old ppl in 1 room

  • Quoting Peter Griffin, of all people: "AHHHH! AHHH, GOD, WHAT WAS THE POINT OF ALL THAT?! ALL IT DOES IT SHOOT YA!"

  • i would love to shoot that old cunt right in her cunt mouth

  • Laughably absurd. The film begins with promise, and soon devolves into predictable, if excessive torture-porn, mixed with a goofy plot about a secret society attempting to find/create true "martyrs" (not the general definition, but that associated with physical suffering only, since torture porn filmmakers are incapable of writing or directing films about actual martyrdom). This plot (which dooms the movie) requires too many dumb things to list, to reach its illogical conclusion.

  • @tenagnek Your insightful review says it all! A waste of a potentially good film.

  • Comment removed

  • @tenagnek I want to ask what exactly in your eyes makes a film torture-porn? By definition, it would be required to use the word "Sadistic" to fully define it. This film has no sadistic qualities. This is a religious organization full of free-thinking individuals. They are not getting off to torturing her. It is part of their belief in obtaining knowledge of what is after life. This is far from anything relating to a film like "Hostel." It is their job to torture her.

  • that was shit.

  • 3) Lastly, what exactly made Ana a martyr? I may have a strange interpretation of the word, but as far as I know, it's just someone who dies for their religion/beliefs. So I don't get how Ana was a martyr? And was the woman's suicide at the end her attempt to make it to the other world Ana told her about? Since I guess that would technically make her a martyr.

  • martyr means witness in greek, Anna witnessed what lay beyond death and perhaps the old lady was told something that meant her lifelong search for proof didn't matter, what was there was there regardless of what you've done in life. There's no escaping death, so there's no escaping what lies beyond it, perhaps this realisation that her fears were in vain is what made Madame believe there was no point in living anymore.

  • 2) The older woman explained to Ana in her first scene as a victim the reasoning behind all of their sick methods of torture, and about how all those photographs she showed were taken just before death. But I didn't understand what she meant by any of it. Was there ever really a reason that was given as to WHY they victimized people, and what qualified them to be these victims? I feel like the movie may have been an attempt on trashing the obvious extremes of how ridiculous some religions are.

  • @turkeysandwich11 the phrase 'keep doubting' and the purpose being from the whole 'experiment' to find proof, insinuates that whatever the old lady was told was not the hopeful answer of 'proof' that she was expecting. She realised all that time was wasted. The final word 'temoin' appearing on the screen translates into 'proof'. Pushing their victims to the brink of death so they saw what lies beyond death, as 'martyr' comes from greek as 'witness'. They turn them into witnesses for an afterlife

  • Okay, since this is the last part, I think this is an appropriate section to ask a few questions:

    1) First of all, what was the significance of the family that Lucie murdered near the beginning? I understand that the "lab" was underneath their home, but their involvement in the whole thing seemed non-existent based on the way the movie played out (considering there were so many others involved).

  • @turkeysandwich11 the family was part of the cult. they all were, including the kids, and they had tortured lucie.

  • @Sener wrong. Lucie killed the kids because the allucination (monster) told her to do so. Second, when Lucie was a kid and being tortured, those kids were like 2-3 years old, get your facts straight.

  • @TheKrustaceox you're wrong, it doesn't even matter how old the kids were when she was being tortured. The point is, the whole family's part of the cult and the kids know it and are a part of it too. That's why she killed them.

  • @Sener yes the kids are part of the cult, which consist only of elder people, or maybe you did saw some children in black at 2:40 right? They live happily with a slaved woman in their basement too, no worries. She even asked the boy if he know what they parents did to her, and the boy clearly had no idea. She killed them because of the allucination' hate, as you can see in part 3.

  • @TheKrustaceox That's ridiculous. Just because only elderly people showed up at the end means absolutely nothing. Yes, they live with a slaved woman in their basement because that's what they were taught to believe in since birth. Have you seen fanatic religious children? They sing christmas songs about homosexuals getting killed and sent to hell. The boy knew exactly what she was talking about as you can see in part 3.

  • @Sener whatever you believe, least you enjoyed the film i guess. And the part where the boy is killed is not 3 by the way.

  • @Sener this is true! have you ever seen interviews with the westboro baptist kids! crazy kids!

  • @poisoncupcake74 Yup, those are the ids i was thinking of and i'm sure there's even worse.

  • @turkeysandwich11 1. she was trying, not so much to take revenge, but to free herself from the ghost of the murdered girl she left in the building when she escaped from being tortured. In the same way the 2nd girl Anna found in the basement couldn't escape from feeling 'insects all over her skin' Lucy couldn't escape the appearing spirit that 'helped' Lucy kill herself in the end (as Lucy is seen as doing it, but to her, it was the spirit)

  • i dont understand this movie?????

  • thanks for posting :)

  • Beliefs state that it leads to an eternity in hell. Lucy's wind into a state of very low physical consciousness in extreme pain is what the 'organisation' wanted to achieve; a martyrdom state of bliss in the face of death. Lucy's talk w/Anna, they talk of 'letting go' and not being afraid, so Lucy could endure so much. What is so very, very sad is that her suffering was in vain as faith in life after death is something that you have or haven't, it can never be 'proved' as the old lady wanted.

  • @KillahBeGranted 3:06 illuminati scumfucks justifying there satanic bloodlust with enlightenment pseudo-bullshit! If you ever do this to someone you can only expect one thing from the afterlife.

If your reading this and your one of the "Enlightened" then listen up YOU WILL GET YOUR REWARD FOR YOUR FAITHFUL SERVICE I GUARANTEE IT YOU SERVILE WORMS.

  • Another idea adding to the desperate search for 'proof' in life after death could be from all the elderly people arriving at the house; the point being that the elderly would be more afraid of dying than younger generations as it becomes closer and closer the more time passes. There was a celebratory and social air of the gathering..the way the old lady removes her make up is like a final send off, preparing for dying. As it's suicide, she must have no belief in life after death as Christian

  • @Duxaization I agree, the phrase 'keep doubting' and the purpose being from the whole 'experiment' to find proof, insinuates that whatever the old lady was told was not the hopeful answer of 'proof' that she was expecting. As @Duxaization says, she realised all that time was wasted. The final word 'temoin' appearing on the screen translates into 'proof'. The build up of people arriving in the house and the old lady's calm and decisive suicide in my mind attributed to this idea also.

  • I do not want to call this a horror movie but want to call this a torture movie.

  • fuck me when i watched this film it proper shit me up,,i watch other horror movies but dis is sum next shit!!!!!!!!!!! never seen anyfing like dis B4 :(

  • this movie was dumb. it wasn't profound in any way.

  • wow... shouldn't have been the last thing I watched before bed... tormented.

  • I think the message at the end is that there is nothing after death. The people are looking to see what comes after death, but this means that toa degree they doubt there is nothing after death. When he says "no" to her question, it implies this. However when she says "keep doubting," this suggests the doubt that they have that there is no afterlife is false. So whatever was whispered into Mademoiselle ear, might have made her realize that there is nothing after death.

  • @Duxaization Gong on from my original comment. The bigger picture could be they are afraid of the afterlife, so that is why they do these tortures to assure themselves that there is an afterlife. I think the moral to take away is that the more time you spend trying to find out what is beyond death, the more time you have wasted. As a result of Mademoiselle age, she could have wasted 50+ years of her life, to then realize that there is nothing beyond death, but death itself.

  • one sicko movie.

  • A profound, and profoundly disturbing film; I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. The moral to this story is obvious: Don't trust old French people!

  • @linkone11 I'm french and I couldn't agree more...

  • @TheBountar Idem x)

  • @linkone11 nah, it's "rich people get a big boner from seeing others suffer."

  • intelligent film, did not think it was an exploitive film whatsoever. In my opinion the film had little to do with torture although the scenes were graphic it evoked a great deal of emotion unique plot Thank you for posting

  • so what were they attempting to find? enlightenment through physical and mental suffering?? I didnt watch the whole thing.

  • brilliant

  • So, what's the moral?

  • Wow.

  • HELLRAISER did it first.

  • Is it a fan dubbing or is this an official dubbing that was released with the american DVD release ?

  • This movie was brilliant but I think it's one of those movies that I'll only ever watch once. The whole torture part of Anna was a bit too much for me and I ended up crying my eyes out :/

  • Great ending

  • whats the song at the end? :o

  • @taniarebel Seppuku Paradigm- Your Witness

  • See the song around the 3-4 minute mark, anyone else hearing 28 Days Later?

  • Enjoyed this movie, cheers for the upload, although I found funny games more disturbing. Still cant figure the ending, because if she did see the afterlife, why would she tell anyway, giving the madam everything she hoped for? And if she told her that there was no afterlife, then why was she is such a rush to blow her brains out? She might as well just carried on with her life til death & the eternal nothingness came. Maybe Anna told her there was & lied, just so she'd do herself in haha

  • @ThatGuyGus I can't thank you enough. This movie is way better than the best words could describe. I really appreciate you uploading all this.

  • this film makes me sick how can they do dat 2 ppl and live wid dem selfz??

  • @TheUsmanjavid I know, Anna probably said, "ya your all fucking damned, might as well just kill yourself now"

  • why did she shoot herself??????????????

  • A big thumbs up to Gus 4 posting ;)

  • all of this was a test for anna!??! O_O fck that sht!...-.- niice goin'retarded female dog for killin'yourself tell me why she did that!!?! glad this shts over cause my mind is abstracted to this movie!!

  • love itttttttttt

  • Put me on edge, uncomfortable, extremely mortified, and the only way I could finish watching it was by thinking of Chenney and Bush ordering torture as a tool of war. Anyone, for any reason, who tortures a little or alot, by whatever means, is depraved and evil, and such conduct may well go beyond the bounds of God's forgiveness. On the otherhand, in terms of drama, it was quite riveting, horrifying, and even sickening to the extreme.

    Homo Lupus Homini+

  • @brokkenstar There's no such thing as good or evil. Only people, their actions, and people's perception of those actions.

  • @EPICsliceOFcake To your opinion I cannot subscribe, ever here of the 10 Commnadments, without them we would be killing and stealing and raping, and robbing, and lying and whoring without end.+ They are the foundation of our law, and we, people, didn't think of them.+

  • @brokkenstar That's called law. It's made to maintain order. Not to decide what's good and evil. I'm guessing you are a religious person so you're probably against abortion. Yet it is still legal.

  • @EPICsliceOFcake The law is good and came about to quell evil, abortion law is man-made law which makes it fraught with flawed reasoning, especially when it contradicts one of the big ten. So in my belief system people are either basically good or evil or a sick mixture of both- the lukewarm. Your obviously not a religious person, was that by choice or birth?

  • @brokkenstar You are correct. I'm not religious. It wasn't by choice or birth. What I chose was to follow logic. There's no evidence of a god aside from 2000 year old testimony so I don't believe in the god of the scripture. Perhaps there is a higher being.

I came to the conclusion that there is no good or evil because I see that humans get their morals from what they're taught. If you teach a kid that it's okay to kill and prevent them from hearing otherwise, they'll have no problem killing.

  • @EPICsliceOFcake There's more than 2,000 year old testimony as to the existence of God, read Aquinas or Augustine or Theresa of Avila or Dante or Milton, heck read some Shakespeare. Otherwise your going to drive yourself crazy trying to make logic a god. Your parents didn't raise you to believe in God, but you chose logic, well logically speaking you should know very well which your logically not wanting to follow. You may be surprised.

  • @brokkenstar You don't get how atheists think. We want actual evidence. People seeing unusual events and thinking they're a miracle isn't evidence. During the Battle of Marathon, the soldiers stopped fighting when they saw a lunar eclipse because they thought it was the end of the world.

Saying god can't be defined by logic is not an argument. It's like saying Santa Clause is real but he just defies logic. Scripture was made as a con to control people and somehow it still works to this day.

  • @EPICsliceOFcake No, no my friend, you don't get it, I was pointing you to the ontological argument which by logic explains the existence of God. The proof that God exists is not just in the miraculous or mysterious, but it can be found in the metaphysical reasoning which incorporates logic, and analytical reasoning as well. The Catholic religion never said God defies logic, oh no, read Thomas Aquinas for the logic you seek in defining God's existence.

  • @brokkenstar So, in as many words as you'd like, will you try to explain to the skeptics, atheists etc, what the definition of God's existence is and any other thoughts you might have on the subject(s)?

  • @SirKowalski666 No thank you, just a follower, not a priest or theologian. Perhaps ask them or just google.

  • @brokkenstar What makes you follow, though?

  • @SirKowalski666 33 years ago I had an overwhelming sense of God, and so I believe in One God, the Father, the Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen; I believe in Jesus Christ the only son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, True God from True God, . . . He came down from heaven and by the power of the Holy Ghost was born of the Virgin Mary, for our sins and for our salvation he was crucified by Pontius Pilot+ .... From the Apostle's Creed+

  • @brokkenstar Brainwashing at its best.

  • @derbigpr500 Yep, I did it to myself, who did it to you?

  • I think the questiom madam asked the guy before she killed herself was the same thing ahna said to her. Madam leaned in and ahna asked if she can even imagine the afterlife, and when madame said no ahna said Keep Doubting".

Im not sure whether she supposedly lied or there was an afterlife but ahna told her there wasnt so no more girls would become victims like lucy.

  • be afraid of the rich

  • All i have to say is this is a great and powerful movie :D

  • What a SHITE film

  • It was anna not lucy.

  • it is scary to think that there are people who hate the thought of a Jesus. I got so freightened by a guy who literally cursed me out because his son got paralyzed from the waist down drinking and driving. I told him that God would take care of him. He cursed God saying God did this to my son and he was an atheist. Some scary stuff.

  • @31behold

you have to be careful about saying things like that to strangers man, religion isnt for everyone the guy wasnt an atheist if he said "god did this to my son". hes like most people who believe in a god but choose not to sacrifice theyre lives or put restrictions on (example of restrictions: the church, islam, judaism,) for him

  • haha there "epic old man" from just for laughs" !!

  • Considering the agnostic (simply put: 'I just don't know' or 'it's not possible to know') background of the writer, I'd say that the writer intended an open end with room for both interpretations that Anna either did, or didn't experience an afterlife. The whole discussion regarding the one correct interpretation is pointless for the writer believes it is not possible to know.

  • That's something that doesn't make much sense in all this.

When she shoots herself that's a sin in itself so she would going by myth only get to (if you're a Christian or a Catholic) only get to St. Peters gate, that's all you'd see then you'd be sent directly to hell.

Suicide is what that would be and that is not permitted in heaven, unless you where truly sorry about what you'd done.
