When i connect the device to my computer nothing happens, except the plug in sound but i cant find the device anywhere... anyone here that maybe had the same problem or can give me some good advice please?

I strongly suggest you download a utility to monitor your external hard disk temperature if you do not want to lose all your data from an overheating drive, the #1 cause of failing drives.
lacie disks are ok but not great whats really important is what drive is on the inside of the unit, and how good is the bridge board and power supply, Ive had 4 lacie power supplys failed on me, bought 5 of their products, one of the drives inside one of my 4 lacie external hard disk is on the way out, the drive inside it is a maxtor :(. Seagate , hitachi western digital & samsung are generally more reliable drives. but if you base buying a drive on how black it, is then good luck to you.
Man, I bought this hard drive 'cause it had a great price/reliability trade off. The fact that is black is nothing to to me. I like it, it's ok. Nothing more.
I bought the 750GB version (with FW 400 & eSATA connectors too) back in November, it's a silent and sexy drive, worked fine until it crapped out on me along with my data after just two months.
Checking the drivers back then when I installed it, looks like it is a Seagate drive under that hood. Will update when my data recovery centre actually opens up the casing (voiding my warranty), intending to swap the old disk with a WD.
Hi Mate, that Hard Drive looks really stylish, I have two My Book's. I wanted one of the LaCie external Hard Drives but I read in a MAc Magazine that they were too big, which I can see in your video that the author of that review was obviously a Leprechaun from my home land of the Emerald Isle.

Well, I'm not going to open it, I'm not really the kind of person who does this things. It could be an epic fail! :-)

good stuff, usually I go with the WD MyBook series drives but these would be my next choice.

Sweet, I'm looking into buying one of these so I can transfer all my files off my 32bit Vista and install a 64bit vista if I can. :D
