the only thing i do not like about this company is that, the engines are not really up to par. i mean, ur telling me that for a dbs, the most hp you can get out of that v12 is 510, that is just shoddy, chevy can get 550 out of a v8, i mean i dont know if u do or not, but i would like to consider them a super car but super cars a supposed to puch the envolope and make the impossible possible and i am sorry but they do not do that for my, however in the looks department, they are a definant win

@sainteustatious contrary to popular belief, car manufacturers do not max out their engines.....there is always plenty left on the table.....510 hp is not shoddy, it's just right for the car.....and I am sure that chevy can get a damn site more than 550 hp out of their V8's (naturally aspirated), it depends how much money you're prepared to throw at it.

Astons don't need to be as fast or powerful, they are smart elegant and surprisingly refreshingly understated. I walk down Vancouver streets and everyone always points out the ferraris, but not everyone notices an aston drive by. They don't need to show off, and that's why I love them.

You can't compare Aston Martin to Lamborghini or Ferrari. The Italians build the heart pounding, razor sharp super cars i.e the 458 Italia. The DBS is a comfortable cruiser and a windy road-loving sports car. I'd love to have both.

Aston Martin's have the X factor, they cost more than the competition, they arent as fast, they dont handle as well, and they may no be as recognizable, but the pure elegance and presence of the car, trump all of the "downsides", and it becomes just a perfect machine that anyone with a brain would love to own.

You don't buy a car like this for speed, you buy it because it will put a smile on your face day in, day out. It's not a compromise for something else, because chances are that if you can afford to pay £160k+ on a car, a Lamborghini or Ferrari are within reach too. It's an object of desire, a car you will truly cherish. I doubt many people will buy a new DBS will worry about depreciation or anything like that because it's definitely something you want to keep around.

I think Aston Martins are so beautiful, but they just don't compare to Porsche and Ferrari. Porsche and Ferrari are so advanced. Every week they make a new gearbox ,or engine or some type of performance system, but Lamborghini and Aston are just good looking cars with powerful engines, but they are just not comparable to the Ferrari and Porsche with engineering. So me, I am a Porsche and Ferrari guy. I think they are the two best sports cars around. Not to mention they are beautiful too.

Im sorry but if im gonna spend that much money on a "supercar", it must be really fast. A 911 turbo, 458, and LP560 are all much faster than the DBS for less money. Jeremy Clarkson said it well saying you wouldnt choose the DBS if you wanted the most car for your money. I could only see myself having one of these if i already have a truly fast supercar or 2 and wanted the DBS for comfort and class. The DBS Volante would be in my dream garage but only if i already had my 458, LP670, and others,

The new ZR1 puts the US on an even foot for performance, but other than that the car is trash. However, Ford is coming around to the modern world (got it from Volvo I guess), and is finally capable of manufacturing high-quality, high-performance cars. Don't even mention the crap brand of Dodge.
