Honestly, this was so far the best trailer for the fake movie that I've seen on Youtube yet except for the one with the pictures that explode into words without any actual actors in it and where it says it's "Produced by Johnny Truant" (which I find to be a little odd considering he was dirt-poor and insane)... Yours looks believable. Though the idea of another Jovovich film makes me physically ill.

This trailer comes about as close to the feel of the story in the Navidson Record as I've seen. Everything is just about right, even the music. I also love your casting - except that I've got Nathan Fillion stuck in my head as Navy, and he says he's not leaving. :P And John Goodman as Tom in his Roseanne era, except a little trimmer and with a beard. Your other character choices are mine, though - though I have yet to paint a suitable Holloway in mah brain. He's more a dark shadow...

I really love this as a trailer because most of the time when you go to watch a fan made trailer on youtube it's really a tribute- with the plot of the movie pretty much laid out. I like trailers that capture the mood of a story without giving it all away. Though, on the other hand- my mother would probably see this comercial and think 'romantic comedy, yes!' and then be scared for life (she wont let me watch scary movies when she's in the house). You did a great job with the casting.

This is an amazing trailer. I love your character choices as well as the overall feel of the piece. Hazzah, to you, good woman! Yeah, I can't believe this movie hasn't been made save the fact that it would be damn near impossible. Maybe David Fincher at the helm...but you're right - Milla is the obvious Karen and Cheadle as Reston would be enthralling.

I think you did a great job with this, and I think the casting, though slightly off, would still work wonderfully (especially given the broad range of personalities the actors you chose have portrayed). So basically, haters to the left. I think this is lovely. Also, I love the idea of Gale playing Navy and Jared playing Jed.

Well, I for one, really enjoyed this. I think you did a really great job. The casting is good. Not perfect - but good. I especially like Milla Jovovich as Karen, and was happy to see Jared Padalecki in there. I also think that your editing captured some of the themes of the novel. I think it's one of the top fan made trailers for HOL on YouTube, which is a hard book to make into a trailer. Kudos!

@yourstreetserenade hey dude, i don't care what any of these others say. this movie was amazing. i'm hooked on the book. ive read it through the first time a couple months ago. now i'm reading books referred by zampano, like dante's divine comedy, then i'm gonna read it again and keep my own footnotes. This was a great film. i'm showing it to a friend of mine to get her to read it. she's pretty siked about the book now. and btw mysticsushi, sony vegas is beast. i use it for my videos.

I still get chills watching this. You did a pretty good job with the characters. And the footage you chose for scenery and events is perfect. How'd you do this? Did you cut footage from movies and convert it into black and white?

Thank you. I took footage from different movies/shows, cut it up, added effects, fixed it so my Navidson and Karen appear side by side in a few segments.The only thing that bothers me is that my Tom doesn't look like Tom in the book, but I just couldn't think of anyone that would work for the role so I gave up.

I'm contemplating doing one focusing just on Johnny's segment of the book, but I'd need to find the right actors for him, Lude and possibly Thumper. Still up in the air on that one. :)

I still think Navidson and Karen are perfect here. And the team seems to fit well, too. (Reston and Wax and all of them.) It has the right feel to it.
