  • Atomic batteries to power...Turbines to speed...Holy Showcar....it's....

  • Plenty of headroom for that stupid cap.

  • 1 Word: Batmobile.

  • You could poke your eye out with that thing.

  • Nice work, looks a bit smaller than the original though but still in scale.

  • 1956 model used as Batmobile!

  • @zickie2000 sorry but there was no 56 model,, there was only one car built in 55 and sadly it was used by George barris to build the bat moblie and he did it in 28 days, all other futuras are copies

  • @misfitt58 That's exactly what i was thinking. This car just looks phony and homemade. Why would Barris make acopy of this car when most of those concept cars were usually just trashed or scrapped, and some ended up in private hands either legally or under the table. The story i always heard was that Barris aquired the Futura legitimately, and converted it into the batmobile that he still owns today.

  • @misfitt58 SADLY?!!!??

  • Seriously, WHY DIDN'T THEY PUT THOSE IN PRODUCTION?!

  • this car is 10 stages above too much

  • imagine if someone backed into you with those fins, that would hurt like a mofo!

  • @MyFlabbyAss i believe thats why they stopped making fins on cars, seriously. its sad because there sooooo cool!

  • What a piece of sweet street candy!

  • Not the 1950s....1966.

  • The Futura is such a cool car. Do they have them in a museum anywhere?

  • HERES GEORGE JETSON!!!!!!!!

  • Looks like a time machine.

  • Looks so much cleaner in this video than what it looks like now. (We currently own the replica). We did obtain the top however.

  • The guy who owns this asked george bartis to make a mold of the 66 batmobile and im pretty sure this is it

  • VERY BEAUTIFUL THANKS FOR THIS SHOW TO THE WONDER OF MACHINE RUNNING

  • i have a really old diecast model of this car and cant find it anywhere on the internet. i want 2 c how much its worth

  • I WANT THIS CAR

    NOW

  • How the hell you have soo old car in soo good condition??

  • FOR SALE?!?!?!?!?!

  • To the Batmobile Robin!

  • This 1955 Lincoln Futura replica was built by the late Bob Butts from a "retrofitted" fiberglass 1966 Batmobile body. While not 100% perfect, it is the only Futura replica of which I know. For more information about the 1955 Lincoln Futura and the 1966 Batmobile, be sure to the check out Eric Seltzer's great website: three w's dot 1966batmobile followed by the usual.

  • @MarkRacop

    Bob "Butts" LAWL

  • @MarkRacop I bought a Brubaker BOX from Bob Butts about 10 years ago from his ranch near San Diego. What a nice guy. He had a TV Batmobile there at that time, along with a bunch of movie props and misc stuff.

  • No doubt, the builder spent many hours watching, and then rewatching, the 1959 Glenn Ford movie, It Started With a Kiss.

  • Yes it is a reproduction and an excellant one at that.

    Wow!

I am amazed at the quality and research put into this repro!

It looks very strait and a fine job!

  • thats a fake

  • I'm confused. The original Lincoln Futura concept car WAS used to build the 66 Batmobile and no longer exists in this form. Is this a reproduction?

  • @smokeynewton That is correct

  • Beautiful car.

Almost like an UFO like in the Jetsons cartoon

  • WOW! Is that a kit? what is the "Under car"? Fabulous!!!! It would look cool at a car show next to a Batmobile replica, that is for sure!

  • Attention GM, Ford and Chrysler: Bring back tail fins!

  • @davidls11 thats a negative ghostrider on bringing back the tail fins!

leave those fins in the past and stay there!

  • So insanely gorgeous. Honestly, how much more did they have to do to turn the Futura into the Batmobile? Paint it black and add a turbine exhaust?

  • If it wasn't for the designers of Ford I dont think george barris could have built a better batmobile! So my praise goes to the people of Ford.....

  • @yumyumsashimi i feel the same way ...every time you here george barris talk about this car..he makes it sound like he did all of this in 3 weeks....he did some mods to it,,and painted it black ..but mostly this is all ford

  • Its just a shame that cars are not made this beautifull anymore

  • It apears smalle than the original and suppose to have a middle glass cover.

  • Hot car, to bad you cant drive it on public roads.

I seen you have no license plates, oh well!

  • This is when they use to make the coolest cars. Now everyone drives those stupid 'tard soccer mom SUVs.

  • I love that car! I would drive it every day if I had one. Whay chassis is this copy built on? Galaxie? And what kind of engine? Is it and FE or MEL or newer engine type? And can you get a kit of this car? I'd love to build one.

  • El logo de Fender custom shop

  • No, this is a reproduction based on the prototype Lincoln Futura which was re-used in 1966 as the Batmobile. A lot of reproductions of the 1966 Batmobile were made built on a Ford Galaxie chassis, so this must be one of them, or one made using the molds that were taken to build copies of the Batmobile.

  • Did this car ever go into production ?

  • Couldn't see much of the interior nor does this vid show the engine bay, but the body is a fairly good copy of the futura. Nice job.

  • Beautiful car and amazing how car aerodynamics have evolved since the fifties....
