According to a local source these are Red Crested Parrots, they were released from the San Gabriel Arboretum several years ago when it threatened by a brush fire, the little guys were never fully recovered and are now a thriving local fixture in the San Gabriel Valley, we get them on our street sometimes twice a day, where they feed in the trees, they are very loud, but great fun to watch.

these are great. my cousin has 2. But they are more beautiful in the wild in my opinion. :D

Amazona viridigenalis, and yes, Mexican Red Heads, Red Heads, and Green cheeks are all the same species!

These guys are Mexican Red Heads or also known as a Green Cheek. Very beauitful birds.

They are amazing to watch. Near my home there is a flock of about 100 of them, I can spend hours watching them play and fly about.
