Thank you so very much for your kind reply! i want to move it but its actually in the best suitable location for what it is, not to mention the work envolved in such a task lol. maybe i try some live plants in the area and some real live lilly pads too .The ones i have are fake
ours is in the sun and i have to add water every other day and within 3 weeks it needs cleaned out cause its gets dirty . Do you think if it was in the shade it would stay clearer? i have tried bought chemical to keep it clear but doesnt work at all
I have never had a problem with green water or algae having my pond in the shade. I think the shade and having plants are the biggest factors. The shadecloth stays up year round and at night the pond lights make the whole effect truly awesome! Let me hear from you again if you do put your pond in the shade. Stay away from chemicals if you have fish! No chemical has ever been in my pond! Good luck!
@ironmonger1969 I know its been awhile since you asked about the water clarity, the key is plants as Gifted said and there is no need to feed fish they can live off mosquito larvae and the slight film of algae in the ponds lining. Plant coverage of 40-50% is ideal for full sun (water lilies, hyacinths, sensitive plant, frogs bit, variegated four leaf clover) things like that that provide some shade.
