  • Saw this tour in Denver in quad. sound. Speakers at back of aud. were almost as big as what were on stage. Unbelievable sound, clear, crisp, and full. Sometimes of the sound was coming from just the back speakers. Eddy Offord was at the mixing board for this tour. Great to hear the original live version. Roger Dean's stage set was also a masterpiece. I wish there was video of this tour. Recordings, studio or live, can't come close to the sound of live Yes in this time period.

  • The GREATEST SONG EVER WRITTEN II...CTTE is number one...but the revealing is a veryclosesecond...Greatness in MUSIC! Not just rock music...ALL TIME MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!

  • The ultimate definition of Prog Rock, long live YES!

  • This is a masterpiece in any musical genre. It compares to the finest works of any composer, Mozart, Vivaldi, you name it.

  • great intro...vangelis creation du monde

  • Had a great time at this concert. Zodiac or Blue Barrel, can't recall. Lost in the subways all night. Amazing music, I will never forget this show.

  • Tales belongs is a vault of classical music. The instruments have changed. That's ALL!!!

But Wakeman's Awaken might belong there too:)

  • The vocals are awe inspiring.New York was a buzz that night.I had to wait 'til Providence2 days later.

  • This is the Gold Standard My fellow Yessians.Rick may have jumped ship, but he came back. Some good bandmate through him a liferaft.Thank you YES!

  • saw in cleveland 1974 thebest never forget it!!!!!!!

  • @whiterobin

I saw them do this in 1974 at the Miami Baseball Stadium. I also saw them do this in 1997 with Igor, and 2002 with Rick. Their technical competence in 1974 was 1,000,000,000,000,000 times better than 1997 or 2002. Maybe i'm misunderstaning what you mean.

  • "Getting over wars we do not need", words that seem endlessly true. All their works seem to be timeless. Wonderful how they subtely implant the melody for the following NSDeSole in this work. I'm always amazed every time I listen to them and all the work that they put into their songs, even after all this time.

  • HolymotherofGOD! I am now officially sick and tired of people badmouthing this album. Have been listening to it almost daily all summer and this 21:26 is the most astounding thing I have heard as far as music on YouTube. I simply cannot believe they pulled it off live as well as they did. Were dates from the tour filmed? As far as the sound goes if you're into Yes enough to listen to Tales live you aren't going to care except for maybe the Mellotron being a tad soft. THANK YOU! for sharing.

  • I saw this concert at Cobo Hall in Detroit. To this day, nearly 40 years later and after attending hundreds of concerts in between, this was the most incredible show I've ever seen. The stage was huge and set with Roger Dean pieces throughout. We as an audience were completely blown away. Still remains my favorite Yes album. What a joy to have this here finally. Thanks for posting.

  • Wow, I was there... MSG 1974.. Tks for posting

  • There are a variety of professional tools (I do this for a living) that can put a shine on things. The distortion is there — that's that. Wow and flutter can be dealt with (sometimes) by a new piece of software that's out. Spectral noise removal might help some. Subtle use of subharmonic generation for the low end to replace loss. But in fact, it would be a mammoth effort for truly minor results. I agree, it is a shame that any quality capture of their performances was a bit too late.

    Cheers

  • I would love to get the original tapes and remaster them.

There's only so much one can do sonically, but it would be worth it for these exciting performances.

  • @frankdf19 Totally agree!

  • @kramsmad8 This almost sounds like it was a soundboard recording, but I agree with you, to remaster them and release them would be so astounding. Like yessongs but not so much midrange!

Thank you for sharing these.... so great!!!
