I wish people would stop spelling it "Anji" - it was written by Davey Graham back in the sixties, and he spelled it "Angie" which was his then girlfriend's name.
Do a google with "Bert Jansch: Legend", and you'll see that I am right.
Please don't believe everything you read on the internet. The correct spelling is 'Angi'. The recording was made in 1961 and released in 1962 on the B side of the Alexis Korner EP '3/4 AD'. I have it in front of me.
fretjuice, it has nothig to do with what I read on the internet, it has to do with the fact that I've been playing Angie for 40, have played it with John Renbourne, have played it for Bert Jansch, have met both Davey and Alexis in the late sixties in the musicians' room at the Marquee, and they all spelled it that way back in the sixties.
I can't remember Graham being in any state to spell anything correctly in late 60s! Nor others most of the time lol. Title and sleeve notes written by Alexis Korner on 3/4 AD (1962) state 'Angi'. The track appeared on BJ 1965 album spelt 'Angie'. Interesting to note that 'Davey' use to be 'Davy'. DEFINATELY no 'e' in Renbourn, as you have.
Vierotchka, you make fantastic claims here, and in other postings. Why don't you show us all how well you can play Angi, Angie, Anji ... or whatever else you like to call it! We are all waiting.
Unbelievable! vierotchka does not limit himself to moaning about spelling on my Angry video. He was actually receiving a sexual favour from Jimi Hendrix whilst playing it for Bert Jansch but he doesn't like to boast.
thanks for your comment, and yeah totally, i have that bad habit of using the little finger, i'm working on it and i was concentrating to not do any mistakes while recording and the little finger came back ^^
Nice work. Now get the rest of it down and post it. One word of advice, though--don't anchor your little finger. It will take some getting used to, but you'll be better off. Once you get better at fingerpicking, that little finger will just be in the way if you have it anchored.

Nice even timing, I prefer it at this pace as opposed to when it gets played at warp factor 5 by most.
