  • Perfect Song!

  • Oh presents what music is. Cheers!

  • LARVA , LOL

  • woow

  • I saw this man live and i gotta say i was completely infatuated with his performance. Strong and powerful yet delicate. Bravo!

  • Que bien est tener raices gitanas,y entender esta comoposición

  • Este tipo está pasado, wao, está fuera de este mundo, es un mounstruo, master!

  • I have unofficially christened Joo Young Oh the World's Only Korean Gypsy :) I don't think even the Russians and Hungarians can do it better.

  • ABSOLUTELY, UNEQUIVOCALLY beautiful……My eyes well with tears.

  • omg i went to his concert few years ago. it was amazing!!

  • His violin sounds first-rate to me. I love its deep, rich powerful tone. Sounds very Guarneri-esque

  • Chuck Norris doesn't actually play any musical instrument. When Chuck Norris comes near, it plays itself and Chuck Norris just has to hold it.

  • i luv him

  • Power and control...... amazing combination

  • This man may be the worlds greatest living violinist.

  • Magnificent playing. Thanks for sharing this video.

  • it has a lot of movements

  • The best!!!

  • wow, perfeito, não dá prá conter os arrepios...congratulations!

  • Hermosooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this violinist, he makes it look effortless. BUT on this peace, I like the performance of IDA HAENDEL better than others. Her instrument sounds better (more expensive) and she plays it more smoothly:

    watch?v=uGXArQJA3Po

Joo Young On has an attitude (good for dance pieces), but for this piece if you must be soft. Ida does a superb job.

  • @zigilwantsu yeah i watched the ida haendel video....and no offense but SHE SUCKS....i don't know if it's just the recording or me but Joo young oh is better by tenfold........

  • Es la mejor interpretación en directo que he visto de esta obra.

    ¡¡¡Magnífico!!!

  • I love how he performs this piece. I prefer it over Heifetz, for sure. Truly beautiful.

  • lmao someone coughs at 3:38 its kinda funny

  • Faster Z

  • One of the best performenaces of zigeunerweisen I love his dynamics particularly in the fast passages of Allegro molto vivace

    lo

  • Wolałbym słuchać tylko strunowca. Klawisz tylko bruździ w uchu.

  • Your performance is very fantastic and heeart-moving! I am really proud of you as I am a Korean, too.

  • very nice...each note is clear...

  • this is the most sincere and best version I ever heard .

  • @MsJony1234 No it is not.... It is violent beyond my understanding. God Help Us.

  • @Kitabo27 'I ever heard, I,I,I,I,I Being the part that makes it nothing to do with you,

murder and war are violent beyond understanding not a man with a violin - go out and get some sun fruit cake -

  • @MsJony1234 I have been to war Ms. Jony. I have seen more then my fair share of killing, which I believes gives me in a unique understanding the violence of this man's interpretation. You are either deaf... or a dullard. Yes it is "sincere"... very profound critique.....

  • Wow he one of a few that can play the left-hand pizz decently. i'm impressed.

  • fantastic. the violinist and his violin are like one. if you imagined this performance without a visible violin, his emotions clearly define the music and the way it makes him feel

  • Fantastic young talent, is it in-born or gifted, I was fascinated by his high and supreme bowing esp his all up bow flying staccato, wah! he is the first person who is able to do that, salute! Keep it up Oh, Oh! Oh! and make your country proud. Lets see how you play Paganini's II Pappiti . Challenge the world's violin master and amaze them.

  • He just play what you like to hear, There is 95% more power insite!!!!!

  • Very passionate. Amazing technique. I am actually learning this piece.. now im juste wondering if i should give up hehe.

  • he is indeed very, very passionate....

    crazy...

perhaps even better than Heifetz's version!!

  • @davidhan96 This is madness. This is Terror.

  • @Kitabo27 well, lets see if you can play better than him.

  • well done.....bravo......

  • Incredible staccato! I had to back it up several times to see how he did it. His left-hand pizz is amazing too.

  • lo k sale a partir del minuto 6.20 es del Pump it :D

  • Mr. Oh is a truly incredible violinist. I especially like the fact that he uses a relatively high-arched violin which brings more profound and darker resonance out of the instrument. His particularly-relaxed right shoulder and bowing should be a benchmark for many students and professionals, let alone precise fingering. Unlike many young musicians today who prefer attacking fingerboards and strings, Mr. Oh serves as a perfect example of how a violin can be played sonorically and passionately.

  • OMG I should just break my violin. there's no point.

  • I feel your pain. This piece always does that to me though, not just when played as spectacularly as here.

  • there is a good reason he looks older than 14.

  • he looks much older than 14 !

I firstt thought he is a bit over 30 . . . . ma i the only one wo thought that? LOL

  • LOL on every one of his videos somebody comments on this. The info is slightly misleading though, really he is almost thirty I think. He WON an award in 96, when he was 14.

  • Extraordinary!...

  • my favorite rendition of this piece on youtube. but i have to say, as an aside, doesn't the pianist look like slugworth from willy wonka? lol

  • ohh man...you are purely perfect !!!

  • OMG he went to Juliard at his age 13 wining scholarship. He has so many big concert all over the world. good to know about him.

  • I ve seen all your videos on youtube. Could you show us many more? i became your admire.

  • very powerful - awesome!

  • his control is amazing.

this my favorite version of this piece so far.

  • absolutely beautiful. Played so smoothly and even. outstanding talent especially for his age. Bravo.

  • power and control...beautiful!

  • I really like this violinist because of his smoothness (for example- his E-string slides are so effortless and beautiful).

He really has the ability to just allow the audience to sit back and relax. Doesn't it seem like some other violinists play with such emotion that viewers always feel a little tense?

  • brilliant!!!

  • I love his hand work I sometimes have a hard time with it because of my long fingers. But very passionate nice smooth bow strokes :)

  • Ha, i'd rather have long fingers than my fat ass fingers!

  • What an unbelievable temperament and musicianship!!!

  • amazing!!!!!!

  • beautifull!

  • Dowon smells like fart. By the way, this sounds good.

  • with the you tube he is now recognized and share an equal footing or even beyond those great names in violin playing!!!!!serious artists would agree!!!take my words on that!!!

  • 7:45 to the end is simply amazing

  • There are a handful of instrumentalists out there that are good enough to be as famous as Perlman, Bell, Heifetz, Vengerov, etc., they just don't have the "connections" that they need with people to get to that point. Joo Young Oh is one of them. He is famous, but not enough to be known world wide like all of the other greats. He definitely deserves it more than anything.

  • Was hat Joo Young Oh im Herz???WUNDERSCHÖN!!!

  • Awesome!! The best violin concerto ever!

  • his name is Joo Young Oh

  • just so you know.. he def. does not play a palatino instrument.

  • Jesus. This hs inspired me to go practice 17384936743868282 hours. If I can just become 1/4 as good.

  • Couln't agree more, man!

  • He is so good.

  • this is awesome!

  • His violin is a Palatino!

  • it sounds so much more dramatic with a piano.

    wow, this guy is amazing

  • love that gliss at the very beginning! awesome

  • HE DESERVES A GUARNERI DEL GESU....

  • wow!! me encanta esta version hace que cada nota tenga algo particular! bravo!!

  • Geweldig gespleeld, met veel gevoel zoals het hoort.

    Rosito

  • yes i concur with you.. ahaha conquer? someone feels like napolean dynamite

  • Excellent mr. Young, you have it all! Put all the world's emotions in 1:52 and you're the Gypsy King!!!

  • I'll second that.

  • Wow, that slow part sounds even better without the mute.

  • Truly a great violinist who blends the old individual sound style with contemporary technique and lyricism. Bravo!

  • good

  • Your playing is brilliant. It's not often one sees Sarasate done right.

Everyone check out his Meditation. It's awesome.

  • remarquable !

  • You have an incredible vibrator reminds me of two things; first is Kreisler's and the second is an Er-hu's vibrato. VERY impressive!!! :D

  • Wow!! This dude is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This has to be one of the most expressive and flawlessly flowing interpretations of this piece!

  • young virtuoso, no doubt!!

  • awesome! almost perfect!

  • amazing~

  • if i tell u that ur better than heifetz dont be surprised

  • your playing is very inspiring! I am a trombonist and I still feel I can learn so much from your playing! Keep with it, Bravo!

    -Alex
