I was just about listen this song but I got those crummy ads about more rock people. The ad nearly ripped my heart when they said Motorhead and Megadeath are Metal Gods (They're still awesome bands) but Judas Priest...IS THE REAL METAL GODS!
Hello my fellow friends :) I have an annoucement, its quite a shocking one too...i was on an Avenged Sevenfold video for their song almos easy and i had an arguement with a guy to try and help him turn to True Metal. This guy known as MAlford65 claimed that AvengedSevenfold are "True Metal" and that every other band, are lesser than that poor excuse of a metal band. Is there anyone who agrees that this guy is a Blind Idiot and must be silenced for good? :)
95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy & paste it to at least five videos. Don't let the spirit of metal die
this is one of the greatest metal song's yet written !!!!! period !!! amazing !!! one of priest's best !!! hand's down. any argument's let's have'um !!!
Halford said he wanted to do a different type of tune-- reggae, metal, hybrid--and Ian came up with that awsome off beat bass intro--KK and Glenn threw in upstroke major chords-- then BOOM!!! the beast erupts and Rob comes in --if you liten to the lyrics you see his struggle of bein a gay dude back all the way in 80--- and nobody noticed!?!?!? LOL-- Bless the Priest--and any homophobe out there ---look in the mirror--HAA Mustaine put it perfectly. ya hate gays cuz you are in the closet!!
@wacmac1 Did you ever hear Scorpions 'Is There Anybody There'? It has that flavor. 2 bands that rocked from 75-82 that I love are Scorpions and Priest. Iron Maiden owe alot to both bands. Double leads, galloping rhythms, high metal vocals. The only reason people make a big deal out of Rob being gay is because it is metal. If you ask me, I think it goes along great with everything that metal stands for. We are OUTSIDERS because we are metal heads. Rob is a great leader. Better than Ozzy. Robfest!
This song has been in subconscious since I first heard it back in 1980. This is proably one of Priests greatest songs and they barely ever play it live
I was 18 age, when i heard Judas first time, in Poland was very hard time, now I 48 , and love the same music. I am glad so many younger love Judas too.
I am a diehard METAL Judas Priest fan i seen them im 1979 hell bent for leather tour while they were still a opening act for KISS but anyways this song is A awesome tune very heavy and powerful , the reggae beginnin is just a crescendo to the massive power chords to follow ! they have always stayed true to there tunes and never strayed to far from what they set out to do !!! HELL BENT FOR LEATHER !!
I'm curious about hard-core JP fans thoughts on this: I always had some mixed feelings about British Steel. It's got some good stuff, but I never thought it measured up to at least 4 of their other albums. But it got more accolades by far. How do you guys feel it compares to, say, Sad Wings ..., Screamin' ..., Hell Bent ..., etc?
@gdbenne stained class is my favourite bar far, it is the heaviest poind forpound comapred to anything they did, my 2nd and 3rd favourite are sad wings and painkiller (they are interchangeable)
british steel is the relaxing album for me, the album i show someone who doesnt know priest, after hell bent you can tell they were moving towards simplier songs and simplier riffs, rounding out my top five are this and defender
@KustomKulture420 are you kidding me Painkiller is the heaviest priest album by far its faster ...more aggressive and halford is at his all time best...but everyone has their own opinion
@KustomKulture420 yeah and im saying pound for pound painkiller has it all.....
this album first off is KK downing and glen tipton at their best....halford vocals are unbelievable and you have the introduction of scott travis' fast aggressive drumming(which priest was missing)...and if you think thats an opinion then why has he been the longest running drummer for priest and he beats his other competition by 10 years... for song writing Rob gives you some of the best power metal themes ever.
@xtrmdago718 let me spell it out for you, if they re-recorded SC at the same time as painkiller with travis's drums, better production and sounding guitars, with speed metal in mind, the title track would beat painkiller.
painkiller doesnt have it all, where is its comparision to beyond the realms of death? there isnt, stained class has it all lol, its only fault being recorded in the 70s.
@KustomKulture420 but thats what if? your not even defending the album. and a Touch Of Evil is the comparison to beyond the realms of death. from the song writting to the intricate guitar work painkiller blows stained class away....and as a final note one of the best songs on the album (atleast top 3) is Better By You Better Than Me and judas priest didnt even write that song...its a cover
@xtrmdago718 but thats what piound for pound means, you treat both the same, touch of evil doesnt touch beyond.. better by you is the best? savage has a better note in the intro then any note on painkiller, where is the tribute to rock and roll (heroes end) on painkiller? you may take away from stained class for having a cover, i think pain killer is missing one,
the thing that does it for me though is one shot at glory is kinda filler, SC dont have that
@xtrmdago718 another imprtant aspect to remember is that in 1978 NO ONE was doing what was done on stained class, yet painkiller is a response to the speed metal movement garnering attention in the late 80s. just speaks to the uniquness and originality of SC. love the painkiller too.
@arrestedshrimp all the years I've been listening to that song and I didn't make the connection till I saw the documentary.. I'm a huge Bob Marley fan too...doh!

@arrestedshrimp That's an odd remark since this tune has always sounded like this, Any priest fan could hear the first few notes and know it was Priest.
