  • What's the song name?

  • @Rattle189 It's the "improbability drive" theme from an episode of Madness Combat.

  • Hey, whats a snork?

  • @Rattle189 It's a former human mutated by the Zone into a killer beast with lethal agility. Not to be confused with 'Snorks' of the '80s.

  • @IggyHazard Ok, thanks! Because i had Snorks in my GMod but i dunno what is it.

  • @Rattle189 GMod version is based on a deheadcrabbed fast zombie which is the closest comparible HL2 NPC that's snorklike. They both have lunge attacks. Takes practice to be able to dodge them effectively and consistently.

  • @IggyHazard Anyways... Why does the snork scream when they see me? They say "WHRRREEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (its so loud, fuck!!!) it almost deafed me with my speakers D:

    Do they walk or cawl?

  • @IggyHazard What kind of game is STALKER? Why is everyone infected or a zombie? Snorks, mutated dogs, bloodsuckers, etc. WHAT HAPPEN TO THEM!?!?!??!

  • hey Iggy i see you know A LOT about STALKER and i was just wondering could you please give me a link for downloading OL 2.2+Arsenal RC1 PLEASE i love playing STALKER SoC and i want to play with more guns so PLEASE give me the link if you know i will SUBSCRIBE i promise

  • Done (PM). \8-D

The Zone safari nEVEr ends!! XD

  • Hey Iggy, have you gotten to try the Browning HP in vanilla stalker? Well, you have to "unlock" it with mods, but it is built-in to the game already. It PWNZ!

It can kill an exo-skelie in a few shots! It rocks.

    -David

  • Never did script it back into vanilla, but it's in Oblivion Lost. Nothing to0 spectacular, but if I was a for-real stalker in the for-real Zone for reals, I'd be glad to have one as my sidearm. Actually, I'd be glad to have one anyway.

    \8-P

  • It is awesome in Vanilla, but the TOZ-34 in Vanilla pwnz, too (two shots to a strong zombie and hes dead!).

And, it doesn't have a crappy reload sound!

    -David

  • I don't know why OLP changed so many details that didn't need to be changed. The TOZ-34 reload sound for one thing but also the capacities on certain weapons. If they're going to change the magazine capacities, they need to redo the mags on the weapon models accordingly. 45-round mags are visually distinguishable from 30-round mags. 30-round mags are visually distinguishable from 20-round mags. And 30-round mags are certainly VERY distinguishable from 10-round mags (of the same caliber).

  • Yep.

I heard they'll come out with an OL 3, but I'm not sure.

There is also a rumor of an OL mod for Call of Pripyat.

    -David

BTW: Some stalkers over in Russia converted the Pripyat level in CoP to be in SHoC! I haven't tried it yet, though.

If you want to try it, head over to the StalkerFiles(.com) and then go to its forum; search for something like "Pripyat".

One reason why it is so awesome is that the CoP Pripyat is way more detailed (dev's even went there for development).

  • The snorks remind me of some urban gang out of a Charles Bronson movie. You just know its going to end badly for them.

  • What if you could get a Wildey in the Zone just like in Death Wish 3?!

    }:-D

  • That would be awesome, .45 Winchester Mag. Who's up for some handgun hunting? haha

  • Kersey had one in .475 Wildey Magnum. There's also a carbine version of the Wildey. Now THAT would be a fun weapon for a Zone safari.

    \8-D

  • Indeed it would. .475 Wildey Mag, I want to read about that one sometime. Did I ever tell you I have a .460 Rowland conversion on one of my 1911 pistols. I love that one.

  • Does it resemble an AMT Hardballer?

  • A little, I used a Springfield Armory Black Stainless 1911A1 model. A friend gave me the .460 conversion a few years ago. Real fun to shoot but I have to have another friend reload the ammo for me, still need to learn reloading one day.

  • Do standard 7-round 1911 mags hold 6 rounds of .460? 8-round aftermarket mags would 7, then?

  • No, 7 hold 7 and 8 will hold 8. If you put the .460 next to the .45ACP you really have to look to see the difference.

  • I think the case is only a 1/16" longer. If that, but you can't feed a .460 in a .45ACP barrel but a .45ACP will feed into a .460 chamber. Also you shouldn't shoot .45ACP out of the .460 barrel.

  • Hey Iggy, what do you think of Killing Floor? After playing it for a while it seems a bit tedious....I'm gonna see if I can't return it.

Bought Modern Warfare 2 though (OUCH, expensive), the game is insane. One moment you'll be dual-wield Glock 18's, and the next you'll be killing people with an Arnie-style Winchester 1887!

It's a sweet game but they kinda went over the top with the weapons. I laughed when I saw a marine cleaning his tactical Desert Eagle, lol.

  • Keep Killing Flo0r. I know what you mean about it getting tedious because you're so limited in what you can do (can't sprint, can barely jump, can't get up on basic objects like tables and shit, etc.). Keep it anyway, though. It CAN be fun sometimes, moreso in co-op.

Note: I'm tired of seeing dual-wielding in FPS games, especially if they're trying to maintain any semblence of tactical realism.

  • Dunno, I haven't tried cooping yet so maybe it'll be more fun.

MW2 is pretty awesome though, they did most of the weapons right (gp-30 still has the same reload animation). They made dual wielding realistic, because you can't hit anything that way unless it's a foot in front of you.

One thing I don't like is that they replaced a lot of the old weapons, rather than keeping them. Sure, having both a FAL and a G3 might be redundant, but I still want both.

  • Did I ever tell yous that I used to have a Century Arms Centurion 99?

  • Yep, sucks that you had to sell it off. How did you like it?

I prefer FALs and M14's myself. The op-rod design is better than roller-delayed blowback IMO.

But yeah, MW2 is pretty fun. I'm really enjoying the Kriss Vector. Would love to own one except for the retarded mandated barrel length. I could go the SBR route but I don't have that kind of money.

  • I loved it. It had a milled aluminum receiver with an integral Picatinny rail. Kinda heavy but very field-worthy.

  • Hmm, I prefer steel. Aren't the true G3's and HK-91's stamped steel like the AK?

There was one company (forgot the name but DSA has a warning letter on their site) that made 7075 T-6 aluminum receivers for the FAL that led to some extremely dangerous explosions...and that's the same aluminum they use for milspec AR's. Personally I think you need steel for anything stronger than .223.

  • @IggyHazard I got MW2 yesterday; MP rocks. Still, they understand tactical reloads. So, props to Infinity Ward.

The Akimbo perk (or whatever it is; I don't remember its name) is somewhat fun on pistols, but dual-wielding a double-barreled shotgun!? Huh!? (yeah, I tried it in MW2)

Still, most of the game is very realistic and actually some moments make you think your in a film.

    -David

  • Dual-wielding double barrel shotguns (sawed-off I assume) reminds me of Caleb from 'Blo0d'.

    }:-D

It can be done. In fact, I've done something similar. I've actually fired two shotguns at the same time, one in each hand. A Mossberg 500 in my left and a ye olde Remington 11 in my right. Other than knocking back one step, it really wasn't bad.

  • I think you'd enjoy STALKER Roleplay on garry's mod.

  • I think so to0. \8-D
