Looks good I'll try this out I use most of the stuff you make videos on my wife is a big fan of "calibre" you made a video on I use it all the time... Thanks for the videos.
@maw88ify No probs, yea calibre is awesome now that they fix the speed performance, is the best app for ebooks on any OS. Thanks for the feedback, good to no someone enjoys my videos haha
Your point about importing a thousand roms is very valid. I have plans to make use of known game databases like TOSEC in the future, like gelide or other emulator frontends.
The Install Game functionnality will go under a lot of changes, it will show a list of games with available installer on Lutris.net and it will still be possible to manually launch a setup script (such as Setup.exe for wine or setup.sh for linux).
Finally, when configuring a game you can override again every option set up in global and runner preferences.
Getting the game covers : yes it's broken, I used Google Image for fetching the covers and google changed some stuff on their site so it doesn't work anymore. It will be fixed in a future release.
Another thing that needs clarification in my opinion is the options mechanism. There are 3 levels of configuration: system, runner and game. When you set something up in the global preferences this will affect every single game you run with lutris. When setting up runner options you can change the settings for every game that runs with that specific runner, you can also override the system options that you have previously set up in Global preferences.
Right now, there isn't much done besides the installer. It's possible to try installing games from the web but it's quite experimental, you can still try it by running "lutris lutris:quake" from the command line (this will download and install quake, but some users have reported this doesn't work for them.)
Let me clarify some things about Lutris that would help understanding where the project is heading at.
The platform will come when I get more stuff done on the website. It will allow installing games from lutris.net, sharing game installers, having a friends list and other stuff similar to Steam.
@gotbletu YouTube adds some "echo" to right channel for human voice (but not for music etc), including 720 & 1080. Its really annoying. I fix this by changing audio bitrate from 128 to 192. I use mp4 for uploading videos (aac for audio), don't know your format. For example compare 10 seconds of radio:
@dogdil1 if your talking about wine games, then that just how it is. Is a miracle that it even runs any windows stuff at all. But if u really want windows games, then use windows, dont waste time using half bake craps if u expect everything to work lols. Anyways check out playonlinux or winetricks, those might help u
@gotbletu Yeah, that, I mean I never want to use windows again, but fuck, those guys that are like "why doesn't everything just work, I want to switch to linux and use all windows applications and therefor not even bother switching to linux" make you realize why it's called "w(h)ine".
The only thing I use wine for is games, only old ones; like starcraft.
Keep on defying people's expectations on what a linux user is like, bro.
@loldude83 haha yea true but i dont blame them much since they are new and most linux users hype up wine as the replacement to windows, so is really not the newbies fault all the time. Is mostly the linux users giving false information in the forums and such
@gotbletu I do see the hyping, but I feel like it's more that there are these people who want linux to be windows + some other stuff, and they won't accept that it has a completely different base, unix vs DOS, and as you said it's a miracle that you can get ANY code to work from one to the other. Especially since wine isn't even an emulator.
But honestly I find emulators to be quite impressive also, they've gotten so good lately, even on shitty computers you can emulate like PS2 level stuff now.
On OpenSuse is nice program called GameStore which is similar to that (dunno if it for only distros too, because of its connections whith YaST)

After repacking YouTube spoils sound.
Workaround: pack audio with 192 kbit.
