I can understand why they got upset at the not being allowed to smoke. Smoking is incredibly addictive and gives you really bad withdrawal when you don't have it for a while. Especially if you smoke a lot a day. I wouldn't say it's unfair to make them go cold turkey, but it is a hard route. It makes you very irritable and you get headaches. I smoked for 2 years. I quit by just lessening my amount of cigs per week and not hanging around friends who smoke (when they go outside to do it, I stay in)
