but the dalai lama is just trying to protect his people from a bad practice. this is like catholicism and protestants splitting hairs. the problem is that the dalai lama thinks Dorje Shugden worship is wrong (base on his experience) and that it differs from Buddha, and positions Dorje Shugden as a deity/spirit, in some ways bigger than Buddha, i have no idea why this is so wrong, but tibetans hating each other over this, isnt right.

is this the dalai lamas fault? rejecting an aspect of history?

@Jabulon88 No, and the Dalai Lama is right in saying that worshiping a deity goes against the teachings of Buddha. But where he is wrong is when he threatens those and has his followers threaten those who don't agree with his philosophy. It goes against the very core of Buddhism to show anger towards those who don't agree with you, and he's breaking the values of the Buddha by allowing this to go on. He is truly not worthy of the title of Dalai Lama.

Because of your dark perspective and lack of experience I don't think you qualify as a judge of enlightenment. Perhaps next life you'll upgrade as the Dalai Lamas hemorrhoid. @mrmetalgear Buddha is in the mind of one and all, his higher cosmic vibrations are a representation of what anyone can achieve with diligence and practice. In my mind the masters (and probably even some of the students) of these temples are way closer to buddha consciousness than the Dalai Lama. If only there weren't power hungry men who wanted to rule the planet ;) Peace!

Through sufferings, often times people will come together. Thanks to China, Tibetan Buddhism has spread outside of the Himalayan mountains and the most popular topic is HH and DS! It is intriguing to observe this phenomena...or should I call it "partnership" between HH and DS in spreading the dharma. The method may not be conventional or to our liking but the end result is, more and more people are embracing the dharma and king dorje shugden!

I think most Zang ethnic minorities (Tibetans) activists, living outside of their motherland, China and a small number inside China, including a small minority of Western sympathisers have realized that they have lost a lot of respect in the International Communities today. The disruptions of the Olympic Torch, The Beijing Games, The riots in Lhasa, Xizang (Tibet) province of China in March 2008, and many other disruptive demonstrations had been condemn by people worldwide. I can imagine how an oracle dramatising a certain point incites action over an issue one has already contemplated a long time and is thus pushed towards making a decision, otherwise further delayed due to (emotional) uncertainty.

I find it rather unconvincing that a Buddhist should respond merely on the background of a presumably quite affected expression of an 'oracle', whoever actually deserves that title.

Simply put, being alerted increases attention towards issues already in consideration.

Yes, I would imagine that the DL already had misgivings about Shugden, and the human being playing the oracle was going along with doctrine that was already accepted. The "oracle" is full of practical advice, such as the detailed escape plan to India.

@cryptsub It is not a mistake. It is the oracle tradition and not the "human beings" that Tibetan Buddhists rely on.

There are many differences between real trained & recognised oracles who has to go through many strict BUDDHIST practice/ retreats before one could be confirmed as an oracle.

For me and I am certain for the Dalai Lama as well... if there were Tibetan Buddhists chasing Shugden to a point where they "WOULD definetely have killed" them, that has nothing whatsoever to do with Tibetan Buddhism. Therefore, there is no point in proving.

If there are such hypocritical Buddhists, then one is to discuss and discourage those violent attitudes, of which I reamain in great doubt that they exist.

This video is not reliable. I would guess it is made by Shugden / Dhogyal supporters, although it presents itself as a documentary. Check out the Dalai Lama's own explanations and all the documents. Also, there are lots of news stories on Shugden/Dhogyal and the NKT organization on-line. Do some research before you pass judgment on someone regarded as a modern-day saint!
