The lyrics are funny as hell. "She said, "You don't look like my type but I guess you'll do...And he said, I'll even tell you that I love you If you want me to"
In today's environment, you need to check out the panties/shorts right away... there are now too many transexuals out there passing themselves off as a different gender than they really are. That goes for you, too, ladies!!
Hi all, i was wondering if anyone can tell me how to find a copy of let it burn, performed by this band? i heard it on the radio, and cant seem to find it on u-tube,any ideas?
I taled to a teen-age girl today, and she said the music of today really was awful. She loves the Beatles and the Who. I love this song. Esp. the lyric "I'll even tell you that I love you if you want me to. Great line!!

i wish itunes wouldnt sell rerecorded versions of great songs they all suck saw them in the 70 s with a vince gill bluegrass band opening very enjoyable love smiths voice
I remember 1st hearing this song on an old juke box about 74 in Destin , Fla. Melvins rec room. Playing pool and smokin Marlboro reds @ 12 yrs old ... lookin for trouble in a sleepy little fishin village...
Great song, great musicians. Every nuance is punctuated with patient restraint, and an intricate attention to the tempo. Perfection is difficult to achieve, but they did it, AWESOME guitar!
"They drove to the Family Inn..." Back when this song came out, FAMILY INNS was a fairly good-size "budget" motel chain throughought the South. Now they've retreated to mostly TN ...still wearing the same garrish yellow and orange paint they wore back in the '70's... Just what a low-rent rendezvous should look like! Great song!!
Man, sure takes me back......I just love the hell outa this tune, always have. Totally agree that this version smokes Kershaw's cover. Didn't know they were from Memphis either & we all know that musically,.....well, for my money anyways that THAT'S about as good as it gets. Thank you for posting , it is much appreciated.
@randalbyrd Hi, I think it was the Pink Panther. . I worked in a bar called the Daily Planet on park avenue and they played there too..Yes..those were the days...I remember Butch and Billy..
My God this sums up the Ford/Carter years, don't it? Gas tripled in price and Ford had people wearing "W.I.N." buttons, (Win against Inflation), while he hit his head & fell on his *ss going to visit Betty in Rehab. . . . How about Carter's "Malaise of the American People"? Everything bad going on was OUR FAULT, while the only "MALAISE" was in the friggin White House, JUST LIKE NOW. Its enough to make you HURL. We had enough of IDIOTS & WALL STREET PET MONKEYS. Let's GET BACK TO WORK!
@Marley800r Amazing Rhythm Aces were formed in Memphis in 1974 by bassist Jeff Davis and drummer Butch McDade, who had earlier recorded and toured with the great singer/songwriter Jesse Winchester. After striking out on their own, Davis and McDade enlisted vocalist/guitarist Russell Smith, keyboardist Billy Earheart, Dobro player Barry Burton, and pianist James Hooker to develop a sound composed of equal parts pop, country, and blue-eyed soul.
@SuperDjdaba I was a Roadie For Jesse Winchester in the early 70.s..We went on tour through the Canadian Maritimes.... We were in a hotel in Charlettown P.E.I. when the Media phoned and wanted to know the name of Jesse,s back -up band The amasing Ruthem Aces!!!! Butch would always sing Third Rate Romance....God bless you Butch i know you.re still singing that song with the Heavenly Band.....Jeff stick Davies and I stay in touch,glennturner@shaw.ca.....
saw this band in 1976 at the Jamboree in wheeling wva. when they started playing this song the curtains were closed. the whole place was on their feet clapping. when the curtains opened, the entire place gasped at the long hair and beards. laughed my azz off
@thewoo692004 In the words of another classic country song "Don't the girls all get prettier at closing time." For those of you who haven't heard it, look for the song of that name by Mickey Gillley
@rocker53zero Oh sure, you're so innocent! LOL Just give me the key and I'll unlock the door, Baby Boy! But I've never done this kind of thing before! ha ha ha! ♥ I just love your sense of humor! I don't think it's his wife and I know dinner wasn't involved, she was straring at her coffee cup,he was trying to keep his courage up ♥
@SuperDjdaba It was the '70s - post-psychedelia, post-Vietnam, pre-AIDS, pre-domestic terrorism. Society was, for the most part, pretty easy going. No time constraints, yet everyone got pretty much everything done that had to be done. As much as the Seventies have become somewhat of a parody, not to mention Watergate and other scandals, it's become a fondly-remembered decade. Thanks a bunch for posting this song.
