HAHA Jay-z isn't the best rapper at all neither is nas or biggie
Jay-z has no right sampling the godfather songs .The godfather songs is a masterpiece jay-z sux really bad Jay-z,nas,and all them other rappers on the radio lilwayne etc are just biters
1.Tupac amaru Shakur
2.Mac Dre
3.S.P.M
4.Tech N9ne
5.Yukmouth
THese are the best Lyrical, metaphorical, everything rappers.........
ANybody who says other wise is just ignorant to the fact....
there's actually another version on the godfather trilogy soundtrack (same title) with the live orchestra. I believe that's where the actual sample is from. (.../watch?v=lxr0x9z-okc)
I still got a couple more to do for Jay, then I was gonna see if people wanted Nas, B.I.G or Pac next (although secretly I've already started a J-Dilla One) But I never thought about Dre (I'm not his biggest fan) but if I keep doing these mixes it'll come around to him sooner or later.
this is great... I kinda do the same thing on the low. Look in the credits of the albums and research the artist and the song. People need to know the truth and research music history. Thanks! PS When doing DRE - it won't be that hard... Everything is from the P-Funk era:)
This version of After All is by a California girl group called The Chiffons. Not the "doo-lang doo-lang" Chiffons! However, the Marvelettes did make the original, which sounds slightly different! The Supremes didn't even record this song!
Oh for real? So the Supremes didn't record the song at all? Well I've been duked because I could've sworn that the Supremes recorded this when they were "The Primettes" and there were four members... google "The Supremes - After All" and hear for yourself but maybe there were other groups too. The sample here was The Marvelettes' version, not the Supremes, so silly me. LOL
Could you tell me the original song title where they sampled Poppin tags? It also sounds like the same sample used for the Kanye song with John Legend on his Get Well Soon Kanye mixtape
At 00:59 one tracks ends and another one starts, that's where da sample is, da whole Jay-Z track is just a snippet of that 3 seconds of Yvonne Fair song.
Nope but premo did some classics on there too! Ski did the most memorable joints off of reasonable doubt though. I mean he did Feelin It, Dead Presidents, Politics as usual, and then came back later on and did "People Talkin" and "streets is watchin"
Oh and a little known fact about the feelin it beat. Originally it was supposed to go to Camp Lo but as soon as jay heard it he was like "nah, give that to me!"
why you got to put that dum ass scareface voice in there OMG

StavrosBoss 4 years ago
can you do an all dj premier original songs then fade to hiphop samples?, it would be appreciated
norfillyson 4 years ago
Don't think so, Primo samples are so mad and obscure usually, I don't even think I can get any of da Jay ones sounding good.
Prime takes like a second from a track and makes something that doesn't sound anything like da original it's crazy.
It wouldn't really make any sense, hence it wouldn't sound good. Don't think I ain't thought though!
