  • Nice compilation. I do miss programmes for schools and colleges during the day. Imagine ITV giving over morning airtime to such a noble cause today and having an advertising armistice for two-and-a half hours. Unthinkable!

  • Great stuff. Those slides (and their accompanying music)really injected some personality into the Schools presentation. Yes, the 1987 roto was technically impressive, but there was no variation.

  • Some great memories, nicely put together.

  • What a fantastic video - a great piece of music aligned to some great memories I can still somehow conjure up years later. Some interesting choices of slides they rolled out but that was part of the magic of Independant Television for Schools and Colleges. Not sure if you know the answer to this but was it simply a case of parking a camera in front of a slide and then a cut to the clock which may/may not have been filmed the same way?

  • @201081hero I'm not sure how they actually put the slides to air. I assume they used some sort of slide scanner, and the clock itself was mechanical so they would have a camera pointing at the model. I believe the regions were all sent copies of the slides (hence why STV had a load of them) but the always looked different (smaller or off-centre) when generated locally. Sometimes on Tyne Tees you would see the network and local slides in the same junction and the 'join' was very noticeable.

  • Totally amazing!

  • These slides are amazing! And I remember some of them. The Crab is ace!
