@AssCrackM16 They let me race my 93 talon tsi awd at the eastern mopar cliassics at MIR which is a mopar only (chrysler) show but jeep owns eagle so talons and plymouth lasers can race there and it wasn't designed by japanese alone. it was designed by Diamond-Star motors that Mitsubishi working together with chrysler as one company they designed all DSM's and CSM's (mirage and colt) together. we do have our own category.
No FWD Honda could ever come close, lol. That's why I'm heavy into Nissans, DSMs (but not other Mitsus, only Talon/Laser/Eclipse), and Mazdas (hints the username).
@Redline2695 Absolutely. I love the S2K, it's a very well-engineered roadster. Very well-balanced, you can dance them around the corner or hold the tires and get faster lap times than anyone else at the circuit in the same class. Hondas aren't all about drag-racing, anyways. Even a FWD Honda can hang with RWD Corollas and Starlets.

@snareman6 You don't do much racing do you? That's ok, I'll tell you how this race works. The first to the finish line gets a win light. The win light is above the white sign in the left lane clock tower. The light is red.
The reason for the timing difference is this. The timer starts when you cross the start line, and ends when you cross the finish line. Because the mustang had a better reaction time, he left the starting line first, and got to the finish line first. That's why he won!!
@electricshockproof if he got to the finish line first his time would be lower than the import not longer the lower time wins unless the import went before the light was green.

dsm car are an american car the motor and drive train is all japan...the cars were made here in the us and the motor and shit came to the states..so yea dsm is the best car out there and will kill v8 v10 or whatever u got so just keep it at that..

No arguing about this, this race was determined by reaction time. Shepherd knows his car he is a one man team. That ford is way sexier and I would MUCH rather have that beast. @toufonglee9 Look at the left timing light. The win light came on for the Mustang. Even though Sheperd ran the faster time, he slept on the tree with a much slower reaction time, allowing the Stang to get to the line first. Therefore, the win went to him. It's what you call a holeshot win.

@omegax05 No it's not, homie. It does not matter who runs the faster time, whoever goes thru the timing lights FIRST wins the race in elimination rounds. That's why reaction time is so important. You ever watch bracket racing where each racer has a dial in number on their cars? They run different times cause one car is faster than the other, so one person gets to leave first, and the other has to play "catch". It's all about who gets there first. Hope that helps.

@zObdayzzz I just got on a roller coaster this weekend, 0-80 in 2 seconds. It's almost scary. I couldn't move my head, at all. To go that fast in something thats connected to the ground by only rubber is insane, I don't see how they can steer correctly or anything. Props to them. makes me wanna do it too.

@ls1maro99 IIRC he said that the speeds were too fast and he was going to install a better cage, just in case. Someone also said that their recent trip to pick up their transmission from sheptrans and the talon was in the body shop getting painted. Maybe, hopefully, we will see this car in the near future. He wasn't spraying this run either and he has trapped higher, 195 I believe.

The 7.70 pass I concentrated on not bogging it so I did not have a good reaction time. He had me .2 out of the hole he ran a 7.86 @ 184 to my 7.701 @ 191. I wish I would have the left boost controller alone and left it like it was on the 195 mph pass.
I finally have the launch figured out and had a .090 and a .070 reaction time in the eliminations.. now if I can remember this spring.
I really screwed up the last 2 runs. The track was getting very loose in the middle and I must have been trying to get my hands back on the wheel quick and shifted 3-2 2 friggen times in a row. It went well over 13K and hurt the motor. I did have a best of 1.21 60 and a 3.36 330 in the first round of elim. tobad I threw it away.
BTW there were no finals. The track temp went down to 39 degrees and they did not let the pro street class run again for safety reasons. "
yeah the only part that was actually made by DSM or Ford on the either car was probably the frame and the engine block... everything else is probably after market... so DSM and ford still make shit motors its the after market parts makers that made the quality parts not Ford or DSM.. or any other car manufacturer... it bugs me how people say how badass DSM or Honda or Ford or Chevy etc. is when it runs a good time but hardly anything on the car is even made by them... to me it makes no sense.
@angelofdeth80 The Evo is a DSM in a way and the stock block has proven to make 600awhp and run 9's... Plus they don't use a billet block when building them, they use aftermarket pistons, rods, bearings and most of the time they don't touch the crank. They have proven to make 800+ hp like this and run 8's and 7's. This goes for ford's and chevy's also. There is a ss in abq that runs mid 9's on the stock block and interior. This statement is just plain stupid.

Ive seen mustang 5.0's blow up at 350Hp, 4G63s' blow up at stock boost and throw a rod through the block at 300Hp a D16 blow up at 180Hp... its all about the aftermarket and tuning these engines from the factory aren't anything special

@4g63luver I'm a 97 GSX owner, and I agree with you for the most part, but the new 5.0 kills all, I'm sorry, but 408 at the wheels N/A with turbo ready forged internals and piston oilers. come on no contest there. and it still gets good gas mileage, much more than a 400 hp 4g63. in the race game 4g63 is the best 4 cylinder by far. 88 psi on any other motor, I think not. but for a strait up comparison new 5.0 is the shit, so much potential.

@jtmagicman25 6-bolt are..mine is a 91...20-23 is dam good when you have 880cc injectors...the best turbo for you would most likely a 14 b form a stock 5speed 1-g cuz there cheap 100 bucks and the can make 300whp...but i would focus on your fuel system first. the line from your fuel filter to fuel rail is very small. 14b would choke from lack of fuel.

@4g63luver That's the stock HP on a 2011 mustang gt. it's built ready for a power adder so no I don't think it would blow. a stock 4g63 would blow after 450 hp unless it's a 6 bolt. a 4g63 at 50 psi would have half the hp as a 5.0 at 50 psi. there's really no contest there. the 5.0 is a lot more prepared than the 4g,

@jtmagicman25 there are evo's making over 550whp stock block under 50psi over 450whp stock block/turbo under 50psi on pump and over 700whp on pump no nos no meth or alc injection full interior and running mid 9's, 9 flat w/ race gas. the 4g63 holds more power than you think its just the tuner and the 5.0 would blow on a turbo after about 15psi high compression doesn't support boost and btw 450whp on a evo is around 565hp at the crank w/ drivetrain loss
@DcEvoIX my 4g63 has the 8.5/1 comp ratio. the new 5.0 wouldn't need as much boost to do the same damage. the lack of AWD gives a certain advantage in itself but after a certain speed that can hinder the performance. a full on drag mustang would kill a full on AWD because those mustangs hook just as good with 2 wheel
@jtmagicman25 rwd means better top end but you can build a evo to still have that top end powerband and my camaro hooks great of the line but you can launch a evo so hard it's really hard to out launch them unless they suck and bog the launch but say you do a ported fp red, 19 psi actuator, gsc stage 2 cams w/ supporting mods, boost controller, bolt ons and tires you will spend $26k tops including the evo with cheaper insurance and spank the 5.0 all day for almost half the $ with a chance of 10s
@DcEvoIX The autos are better, they leave in full boost and carry it all the way down. when a manual shifts it looses boost for a sec. I don't need an evo, I already have an AWD DSM. I just need a bigger turbo, new injectors and a auto tranny beef up kit. I get a solid 14 psi out of the stock piece of shit t-25. I want like a 60 mm ball bearing for better spool time. maybe a GT35 or something. it depends on what I can find for a good price.
@jtmagicman25 yea I love the fp red it spools quick and can hold so much power but there is 2 step for boost at launch and brake boosting for a roll, if u lose pressure after shifts that is 1 of many things boost lag would be 1 of the many but auto is good for high power drag races I haven't gotten to that point yet but I love shifting so I'm gonna see how far I can push it ;-)

No arguing about this, this race was determined by reaction time. Shepherd knows his car he is a one man team. That ford is way sexier and I would MUCH rather have that beast. Nothing like lifting the wheels and the sound of a pissed off v8 rather than an import AWD car running 40 pounds of boost sounding like my damn weedeater.

Hey morons 4g63 was developed by Mitsubishi and was designed more then 27 years ago Chrysler decided to do a joint venture with Mitsubishi in the early 90's they didn't really have any say in anything except for where the chrysler emblem went! @toufonglee9 Look at the left timing light. The win light came on for the Mustang. Even though Sheperd ran the faster time, he slept on the tree with a much slower reaction time, allowing the Stang to get to the line first. Therefore, the win went to him. It's what you call a holeshot win.

@omegax05 No it's not, homie. It does not matter who runs the faster time, whoever goes thru the timing lights FIRST wins the race in elimination rounds. That's why reaction time is so important. You ever watch bracket racing where each racer has a dial in number on their cars? They run different times cause one car is faster than the other, so one person gets to leave first, and the other has to play "catch". It's all about who gets there first. Hope that helps.

To go that fast in something thats connected to the ground by only rubber is insane, I don't see how they can steer correctly or anything. Props to them. makes me wanna do it too.

@ls1maro99 IIRC he said that the speeds were too fast and he was going to install a better cage, just in case. Someone also said that their recent trip to pick up their transmission from sheptrans and the talon was in the body shop getting painted. Maybe, hopefully, we will see this car in the near future. He wasn't spraying this run either and he has trapped higher, 195 I believe.

The 7.70 pass I concentrated on not bogging it so I did not have a good reaction time. He had me .2 out of the hole he ran a 7.86 @ 184 to my 7.701 @ 191. I wish I would have the left boost controller alone and left it like it was on the 195 mph pass.
I finally have the launch figured out and had a .090 and a .070 reaction time in the eliminations.. now if I can remember this spring.

I really screwed up the last 2 runs. The track was getting very loose in the middle and I must have been trying to get my hands back on the wheel quick and shifted 3-2 2 friggen times in a row. It went well over 13K and hurt the motor. I did have a best of 1.21 60 and a 3.36 330 in the first round of elim. tobad I threw it away.
BTW there were no finals. The track temp went down to 39 degrees and they did not let the pro street class run again for safety reasons. "

yeah the only part that was actually made by DSM or Ford on the either car was probably the frame and the engine block... everything else is probably after market... so DSM and ford still make shit motors its the after market parts makers that made the quality parts not Ford or DSM.. or any other car manufacturer... it bugs me how people say how badass DSM or Honda or Ford or Chevy etc. is when it runs a good time but hardly anything on the car is even made by them... to me it makes no sense.

@angelofdeth80 The Evo is a DSM in a way and the stock block has proven to make 600awhp and run 9's... Plus they don't use a billet block when building them, they use aftermarket pistons, rods, bearings and most of the time they don't touch the crank. They have proven to make 800+ hp like this and run 8's and 7's. This goes for ford's and chevy's also. There is a ss in abq that runs mid 9's on the stock block and interior. This statement is just plain stupid.

@jasnm21 Funny I don't remember saying that the block wasn't stock i said PROBABLY... key word there. Most people consider stock is the way it left the factory I'm sure they at least honed the cylinders probably bored it out. That's not stock...

@jasnm21 So in a way your statement is stupid you put words in my mouth that I never said and sure the 4G63 is a good design good job for once DSM but go ahead and take that stock engine and throw 20PSI boost at it or a 150 shot of NOS.. I'd bet money it blows up. Ive seen mustang 5.0's blow up at 350Hp, 4G63s' blow up at stock boost and throw a rod through the block at 300Hp a D16 blow up at 180Hp... its all about the aftermarket and tuning these engines from the factory aren't anything special

@4g63luver I'm a 97 GSX owner, and I agree with you for the most part, but the new 5.0 kills all, I'm sorry, but 408 at the wheels N/A with turbo ready forged internals and piston oilers. come on no contest there. and it still gets good gas mileage, much more than a 400 hp 4g63. in the race game 4g63 is the best 4 cylinder by far. 88 psi on any other motor, I think not. but for a strait up comparison new 5.0 is the shit, so much potential.

@jtmagicman25 6-bolt are..mine is a 91...20-23 is dam good when you have 880cc injectors...the best turbo for you would most likely a 14 b form a stock 5speed 1-g cuz there cheap 100 bucks and the can make 300whp...but i would focus on your fuel system first. the line from your fuel filter to fuel rail is very small. 14b would choke from lack of fuel.

@4g63luver That's the stock HP on a 2011 mustang gt. it's built ready for a power adder so no I don't think it would blow. a stock 4g63 would blow after 450 hp unless it's a 6 bolt. a 4g63 at 50 psi would have half the hp as a 5.0 at 50 psi. there's really no contest there. the 5.0 is a lot more prepared than the 4g,

@jtmagicman25 there are evo's making over 550whp stock block under 50psi over 450whp stock block/turbo under 50psi on pump and over 700whp on pump no nos no meth or alc injection full interior and running mid 9's, 9 flat w/ race gas. the 4g63 holds more power than you think its just the tuner and the 5.0 would blow on a turbo after about 15psi high compression doesn't support boost and btw 450whp on a evo is around 565hp at the crank w/ drivetrain loss

@DcEvoIX my 4g63 has the 8.5/1 comp ratio. the new 5.0 wouldn't need as much boost to do the same damage. the lack of AWD gives a certain advantage in itself but after a certain speed that can hinder the performance. a full on drag mustang would kill a full on AWD because those mustangs hook just as good with 2 wheel

@jtmagicman25 rwd means better top end but you can build a evo to still have that top end powerband and my camaro hooks great of the line but you can launch a evo so hard it's really hard to out launch them unless they suck and bog the launch but say you do a ported fp red, 19 psi actuator, gsc stage 2 cams w/ supporting mods, boost controller, bolt ons and tires you will spend $26k tops including the evo with cheaper insurance and spank the 5.0 all day for almost half the $ with a chance of 10s

@DcEvoIX The autos are better, they leave in full boost and carry it all the way down. when a manual shifts it looses boost for a sec. I don't need an evo, I already have an AWD DSM. I just need a bigger turbo, new injectors and a auto tranny beef up kit. I get a solid 14 psi out of the stock piece of shit t-25. I want like a 60 mm ball bearing for better spool time. maybe a GT35 or something. it depends on what I can find for a good price.

@jtmagicman25 yea I love the fp red it spools quick and can hold so much power but there is 2 step for boost at launch and brake boosting for a roll, if u lose pressure after shifts that is 1 of many things boost lag would be 1 of the many but auto is good for high power drag races I haven't gotten to that point yet but I love shifting so I'm gonna see how far I can push it ;-)

The board even shows the mustang the winner look at the top on the time boards it lights up top on the MUSTANGS time. So Shep did not win this race, he only broke he previous record.
