I do not think the cop had enough time to execute 2 snap decisions before the vehicle was hit. After he notices the approaching vehicle he steps away from the situation (a natural thing to do) and I do not feel that even if he wanted to he didn't have the time to move the other person in any direction that would make much of a difference. I guess he could have first tried to move the guy in cuffs but even he didn't have time to react himself.

After he notices the approaching vehicle he steps away from the situation (a natural thing to do) and I do not feel that even if he wanted to he didn't have the time to move the other person in any direction that would make much of a difference. I guess he could have first tried to move the guy in cuffs but even he didn't have time to react himself.

@GJNCA Some people react as cowards, only considering self-preservation and nothing more, but others react as heroes, considering others before themselves. Its not a 99% coward 1% hero split in the population; there is a great % of people who react in this selfless manor.

@GJNCA ALL of an officers biggest decisions have to be made in a millisecond---its in the job description that you have to react fast, and react right. The biggest difference between a good cop and a bad cop is their snap decisions.

The fact is when an officer reacts to a threatening situation in a cowardly manor, it transfers to ALL snap decisions; its simply how he reacts. These are the kind of police who react poorly, and end up shooting innocent people who weren't actually a real threat

i disagree. He only chad half a second to react, and what he was attempting to do was to get away from the car as fast as possible, and sometimes when you do that, you push off of something solid (e.i a wall, or the hood of the car) but both his hands were on the dude. i don't think he intentionally did it. Just like when you're falling down, your automatic reaction is grab onto the nearest thing, and quite often that's a person. You don't intend to hurt them too, but you're not thinking!

These are the police who accidentally shoot & kill innocent people, due to poor reactions. The ONLY difference between a good cop & a bad cop is how they react on the fly.

am I wrong but date of the video says 9/20/2011, pretty recent. surprised the guy didn't get arrested for resisting arrest, lol. Yes, he was used as shield. Shit happened pretty quickly though, so can't blame him. Not the cops fought, it was a very stupid driver. Hopefully, they were arrested.

I had a group of three dumb friends who were drinking at a small town hotel and were kicked out after being loud, on the way to wherever they were going they encountered a RR crossing on a curve with no lights or bar yet the train was rolling on by, the only surviving friend who was the driver said he cranked the steering wheel left, impact away from drivers side door, as to save himself, without though, just reaction.
