I believe that jesus came to teach us the way of Gods love and how we can love each other. To tell us that we are all Gods children and through the sprite of Gods love all things are possible. Hmmm... So people are born so inherently messed up that the only way to be redeemed for this is by the sacrifice of a god? I wish more Christians would read the entire Bible. That's what made me stop believing.

We confess that all humans are worthy of physical and spiritual death and that only the pure and sinless Son of God could take the burden and the penalty of our sin on Himself for our salvation. I believe those verses mean that the generation that sees Israel restored as a nation will not pass away before Christ returns, and Israel was reborn in 1948. And Jesus is never late. God's timing is not our timing. The Bible clearly states that God's ways are not our ways, and given the sad shape the world is in today with man running it, I'm glad!

It seems like Hell could only be used as a threat to keep people's actions, as well as their thoughts, under control. Christians don't believe in Christ because he died for them, they believe in Christ to stay out of Hell. It's a shallow and cheap relationship, containing no deep truths or divine insights. It's sought for out of fear, not compassion or longing. Scoff at my new-age spirituality if you will, but just remember that I'm seeking God because I want to, not because I have to.
What is the point of Hell? Christians say, "to punish sinners," but if it's eternal, then what's the point? The prime objective of punishment is re-enforce some sort of value in the one being punished. To teach them something. But if one is being punished for eternity, then what do they learn? They will never be given a second chance, so why bother teaching them? If they're souls are so wicked that they are of no use to God, why not simply erase them from existance?

Lightbutdark there is a major difference between sanctification by the Holy Spirit and salvation. Jesus is all powerful and to say that billions will be sent to hell makes God a big loser. It means Satan has won the war. It also means that Jesus' atonement is conditional as opposed to unconditional which is what authentic grace is all about.
You just don't get it, do you? Sanctifying Grace is what each soul needs to enter Heaven's gates. You just proved that you don't understand what sanctifying grace is. Mortal sin is what rejects the Holy Spirits' gift of sanctifying grace, which is needed to enter Heaven. If one dies in mortal sin, they go to hell eternally. You can't get out of Hell
This eternal punishment in hell dogma is what denies the grace of Christ. It means that Jesus' victory is only partial. When the Scriptures teach that Jesus will conquer death and hell that's literal. It means death and Hell will cease to be. Also those who believe in Universal Salvation are immense blessings to society. They see the good in all people whereas those who believe in this limited salvation live in a state of fear for others (& often themselves) throughout their lives.

Actually my beliefs are rooted long before Christianity. Its nothing new at all. Ancient Vedic knowledge has been proven to be accurate. Their astrology, mathematics, and physics were way ahead of the Europeans even though the texts predate them by thousands of years.

Hi Simply, I do not believe Jesus was influenced by anyone except his father God. As for us all being gods this is blasphemy. The first commandment says "Thou shalt not have any God's before me." According to the Bible,we are God's children created in his likeness right? So if a cat has a child what is it? A cat. If a elephant has a child it is an elephant. So if god has a child that would make us gods. Of course Jesus was only iffluenced by his father God because in this sense God is everything. We confess that all humans are worthy of physical and spiritual death and that only the pure and sinless Son of God could take the burden and the penalty of our sin on Himself for our salvation. @B4mytyme Actually, I believe those verses are referring to the prophecies of the end times, regarding the re-establishment of the nation of Israel. I believe those verses mean that the generation that sees Israel restored as a nation will not pass away before Christ returns, and Israel was reborn in 1948. And Jesus is never late. God's timing is not our timing. The Bible clearly states that God's ways are not our ways, and given the sad shape the world is in today with man running it, I'm glad!

It seems like Hell could only be used as a threat to keep people's actions, as well as their thoughts, under control. Christians don't believe in Christ because he died for them, they believe in Christ to stay out of Hell. It's a shallow and cheap relationship, containing no deep truths or divine insights. It's sought for out of fear, not compassion or longing. Scoff at my new-age spirituality if you will, but just remember that I'm seeking God because I want to, not because I have to.

What is the point of Hell? Christians say, "to punish sinners," but if it's eternal, then what's the point? The prime objective of punishment is re-enforce some sort of value in the one being punished. To teach them something. But if one is being punished for eternity, then what do they learn? They will never be given a second chance, so why bother teaching them? If they're souls are so wicked that they are of no use to God, why not simply erase them from existance?

I hate seeing this! It just makes me cry and cringe inside. I hate it so much. There is no way I could have stood there and watched this. I likely would have done all in my power to stop this had I been there because it was so horrific.

That is what was suppose to happen. Jesus Christ suffered for our sins. He was crucified because of our sins. The good news is, he now sits at the right hand of God. He will come again to end the battle of good and evil, and he will take his people home to Heaven. Blessed be that day! Amen!

Yes, it was dreadful. I have a very hard time watching that movie myself. You know, the gospels tell us about Jesus' suffering before going on the cross, but I never really grasped the intensity of it until seeing this movie.

@coppertop1964 - I stand in agreement with you. Without the Holy Spirit's guidance there is no way we can begin to understand the spiritual warfare that is transpiring. People understand "something is wrong" ... it's in the air and they sense it. What they don't realize is all these things MUST come to pass for it is God's will - and God's will WILL be done. The time to accept Jesus is NOW. He will return in a twinkling of an eye and there will NOT be time to decided when He comes. Bless U

That kind of thinking creates a theological problem. I believe God's grace is infinite and many Christians place His grace in a box and place severe limits on it. He will save whom He will as the work is His we are not to judge others.

It's because Adam acted as the spiritual representative of the human race. Therefore, when he sinned we shared the blame. Don't get me wrong, though. There are times when i don't think it's fair either. Like for example, if you were the first human created you may have chosen not to disobey God and the human race would be sinless as a result. We would never have to worry about being condemned to eternal punishment in hell.

There is no such thing as being condemned to eternal hell. That's a lie. I believe in the teachings of the 1st century that Didymos and other early father's taught regarding Universal Salvation. How do you know there is no such thing as hell? Not everyone goes to heaven. The teachings of Didymos about universal salvation are extremely flawed, especailly regarding the validity of all the religions. If every religion held some validity, they wouldn't conflict with one another. According to universalism, even an unrepentant satanist who curses God for his whole life will go to heaven. Uvinersalism just encourages impenitence, pride, and spiritual selfishness.

You seriously don't understand these principles. A tyrannical god is not the God of love. Yes there is a separation from God and a reckoning (justice) but that does not mean that people will be in hell (understanding and experiencing the intensely painful learning experience of what they have done to harm others) eternally. Jesus came to destroy death and hell and that will be the one final act He will do to usher in the end of darkness. To call that spiritual selfishness is really twisted

You obviously don't understand the whole concept of sanctifying grace. Not everyone goes to heaven, it even says in the bible that the impenitent sinners will be sent to hell to suffer the eternal punishment. And when i said that universalism encourages spiritual selfishness, i wasn't talking about Jesus. But it's the truth, universalism DOES encourage impenitence, pride, and spiritual selfishness. Lightbutdark there is a major difference between sanctification by the Holy Spirit and salvation. Jesus is all powerful and to say that billions will be sent to hell makes God a big loser. It means Satan has won the war. It also means that Jesus' atonement is conditional as opposed to unconditional which is what authentic grace is all about.

You just don't get it, do you? Sanctifying Grace is what each soul needs to enter Heaven's gates. You just proved that you don't understand what sanctifying grace is. Perhaps I should explain what mortal sin is, if you don't know. There are 2 kinds of sin: mortal and venial. Venial is less serious than mortal sin. Mortal sin is what rejects the Holy Spirits' gift of sanctifying grace, which is needed to enter Heaven. If one dies in mortal sin, they go to hell eternally. You can't get out of Hell

This eternal punishment in hell dogma is what denies the grace of Christ. It means that Jesus' victory is only partial. When the Scriptures teach that Jesus will conquer death and hell that's literal. It means death and Hell will cease to be. Also those who believe in Universal Salvation are immense blessings to society. They see the good in all people whereas those who believe in this limited salvation live in a state of fear for others (& often themselves) throughout their lives.

Like so many others, you hear but don't listen. Jesus' victory was indeed full. Hell will not cease to be, that is a statement that has no facts to back it up anywhere in the Bible. And yes, those who believe in Universal Salvation can, in some ways, be a blessing on society. But they can also be spiritually lazy and avoid seeking holiness and doing good works like catholics do. In Revelation it says that those who enter Hell will suffer day and night for eternity! I have the Bible on my side.

Like so many others (various christianities/christian sects) you have your own interpretation. Hosea 13:14 says that hell will one day be destroyed. 1st Corinthians 15:55 also. Again, you are wrong. Those verses simply state that death will no longer exist. Hell will not be destroyed, only pain, death, and suffering. You claim to have facts to back up your claims but you dont. I AM on God's side, He has called me into service in the priesthood so i'd say that God and I have a pretty good relationship. Calling me self-righteous doesn't say a whole lot about you except that you're judgemental and arrogant. I'm not a fundamentalist either, yet another claim without proof.

Also your "extremely flawed" argument regarding Didymos is interesting in the light that he was eons closer to the original Church that Jesus set up than you are today. Things began to change dramatically especially after the 4th century. Read Dr. Bart Ehrman's Lost Christianities the Battles for Scripture & the Faith's We Never Knew. If you think that Christianity has many factions today you should have seen them after the 1st century. They were deeply divided.

My God, what our Lord endured for us because of our sins. It makes me cry every time I think about His sacrifice. I agree, Jesus is the olny way be which we can be saved. If He wasn't the only way, He wouldn't have come to Earth to die that tragic death. It hurts my heart when people disregard the death of Christ. The make it seem as though He died because He had nothing to do that day. No, He died with a purpose, which was to save US!

I have been a Christian for a while now. I believed when I was a child, I think I was Saved at the age of 21, but I backslid terribly. I've been walking with Jesus steady for about 5 years now. I just want you to know that I just said the sinners Prayer again while I watched your video. Jesus is the only way to get to the Father. I may at some time in my life said something differently to someone, and I am so sorry. Jesus is the only way!!!

Actually my beliefs are rooted long before Christianity. Its nothing new at all. Ancient Vedic knowledge has been proven to be accurate. Their astrology, mathematics, and physics were way ahead of the Europeans even though the texts predate them by thousands of years.

There is a good amount of evidence that Jesus was a Buddhist, or at the very least, influenced by Buddhist teachings. This has been hidden from many Christians. Please research this. Jesus was able to heal because of the metaphysical knowledge he gained through meditation. He even tells us that we are all gods in Psalms and John. He talks about being one with god. We are all one with the creator and always have been. We must realize this. Get in harmony with creation HOLISM. Everything is ONE

Hi Simply, I do not believe Jesus was influenced by anyone except his father God. As for us all being gods this is blasphemy. The first commandment says "Thou shalt not have any God's before me." According to the Bible,we are God's children created in his likeness right? So if a cat has a child what is it? A cat. If a elephant has a child it is an elephant. So if god has a child that would make us gods. Of course Jesus was only iffluenced by his father God because in this sense God is everything. We are part of that everything too making us one with God. When I refer to us as gods i only mean that our thoughts create the world we live in. Jesus knew this information, hence his miracles!

God tells us to gather all the wisdom that we can. Knowledge is wisdom depending on how you use it. Also, Christians are supposed to meditate on the law of God which is the law of one.
