If there are fewer defenders to take out then the attackers can advance faster. If you have less attackers people are less likely to be jacking off in the back of the map; because they know they will be needed to take the objective. I've played the PS consoles since I was two years old, the first PC game I played on comp. was BF3 13 years later. And I've found that my games lasted the same duration of the games to be the same at fifteen-twenty minutes... I'm out of characters.
