I have a laptop acer aspire 5315 and more models for 5315 but we need the original screen keyboard touchpad 15.4inca with CCFL inverter for my battery while I do not need to Serbia and for me it's all 300usd that you can find at a decent price because I 4 years ago paid the same laptop under $ 300 my email is amdc2d@gmail.com to conntact me
I've upgraded the CPU on my 5315 with a 2.5ghz Core2Duo (which is a huge improvement over the 2ghz single core celeron that it came with) and I have not had any overheating problems. The laptop has been heavily used for about 4 years now. If you keep the dust away (and use Ubuntu instead of Windows Vista :P ) it is a very reliable laptop.
Are you using the latest BIOS? If you're not then try flashing the latest version. I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 on my Acer 5315 with latest BIOS and I've got no fan problems.
@23piz23mitch what make/model cpu did you upgrade too? i have an acer aspire 5315 for 4 years now and i'd like to upgrade the cpu since my acer is still working like a charm
lol.. you had random shut downs for a year.. you are lucky you didnt do real damage to your system with all that junk in the fan, at least you got it sorted with minimal damage, everyone should do this at regular intervals, every four to six months to stop this happening, always make sure your system gets air to the intakes.. heat is a laptop killer
too bad you didn't know about this before you wasted all your money for a mac so you can youtube and facebook with.

I followed your video and got a 20+ degree Celsius drop in CPU temp on my 5315. (From low 70's to high 40's) Too easy.

@m15f17 That's sweet. Send me a link to that processor bro!

@m15f17 Mind sending a link to the CPU? I can afford to install a new CPU but not a new laptop so this would be very good for me to do.

@keko2k7 Go on the Acer website and try to contact them. You should have some kind of warranty if it's new
