One question that I ALWAYS have to ask about Line6 and it's because I've been using them ever since I've been playing guitar, is - How is the volume and balls on it? Will it be enough for a gig and will it be able to give a good chest pounding on stage with three guitar players on top of it?
@Frostylyxxx Let me put it to you this way. I went to sam ash the other day, got to test the same Ibanez BTB675 bass through a few 100+ watt amps including Fender Rumble updated series, Ampeg SVTs, a few Hartkes, Gallien Kruegers, and Line6 LDs. The Line 6 was the most versatile series of amps. It had the best preset effects, very straight forward hands on control/dials. Ran circles around Fender amps. I'd say Ampeg was as good, but w/o the effects, so Ampeg = less versetile out of the box.
So to answer your question, yes it is enough power to play along side 3 guitars. It's 400 watts. I mean if that's not enough, you can always get 2 4x10 cabs from them and hook up an LD 400 or better yet an even beefier LD750 head to them. That's more than plenty of power to make the deaf turn heads. And it's not chest pounding, it's skull crushing power. It's brutal, and it will beat the shit out of your ear drums.
this is pretty funny for me cos we got one at school and I use this for everything but bass. Instead we fuck about with it a lot, and do things like elec guitar to wah to big muff fuzz and chorus on the amp, which is actually quite alright sounding.
As bass player in the band music you are creating is actually binding the entire group together as one and creating the rhythm that each song is to follow.
It comes down to personal preference. If you are passionate about your music, then take the time and effort to invest in decent equipment.
well if you have active pickups on your bass (if your bass has a battery compartment in the back, it has active pickups) then you would put it into your active input.
@stever199 Normally the difference is db the active input is quieter do to the fact that a active bass is louder then a passive bass this allows for more clean headroom. -PK
theres compression on the active input so, active basses put out a very loud signal that may cause the amp to distort without you wanting it to be distorted
@RoBoTFaCe420 That would be a rocking sound I love ampeg cabs I want this head and I'm going to get a 1x15 cab and a 2x10 from seismicaudio(dot)com. -PK
I have a LD750HD. I've had it for about 6 months. Great amp. Don't go by what the mics sound like on these vlogs. For the price you can get these amps now there a steal. Do yourself a favor and check one out.
