  • JAPANESE SEEM TO HAVE THE MOST INVENTIVE IMAGINATIONS WHEN IT COMES TO ANIME, HORROR, AND SOME MARTIAL ARTS FILMS I WILL JUST CALL ON A FEW LIKE EYE, GRUDGE, MY ALL TIME NEW FAV. BLOOD AND PAPRIKA (INCEPTION) IS LIKE A REMAKE OF IT WITH leonardo dicaprio CHECK THEM BOTH OUT.

  • @ronNvon WOW I LIKE CAPS LOCK TOO

  • This a message for people who are trying to convince their parents to let them watch this.

It's rated R, but only because there's a couple scenes with boobs in it. There's no gore, no swearing, and there's little violence. Hopefully this message will teach the parents who think they're so good to realise how stupid they really are.

  • 0:38 pretty good quote , and this looks awesome :)

  • Don't watch this movie when on acid...............

it will freak the shit out of you o_0''

  • the movie that coming soon call "Inception" is like this anime

  • @2006genesis That's exactly what I thought of when I read the summary.

  • Am I the only one that thought Tokita looked sorta like Gabe Newell?

  • 0:55 - Look! It's Ms. Swan!

  • Yet another film I just have to watch.

Is it just me, or is every anime filled with images of nuclear explosions.

  • This movie just blew my mind the first time i saw it (:

  • I love this movie so much.

  • Same here :)

  • everytime i see this movie on tv. i always watch it. it's so entertaining and creative. even though it's hard to understand. but tht's what dreams are about right??

  • "retard"

  • i think that quote was aimed more along the lines of... there really isnt anything special about the movies you mentioned... dont get me wrong ive seen them all and love them completely but what is so unique about them? casablanca is more or less.. about a love triangle of sorts... fight club yeah it had an interesting element of the subconscious into play but nothing like what satoshi kon and other japanese animators are doing reaching into the depths of their imaginations

  • then again you could say we try to show some of the same sort of things in american movies....but imo i think we do a horrible job of showing our creative side, which gets devoured by all the guns, explosions, and swearing that MUST be in the scripts because thats what we precieve as cool and what will make alot of money

  • That quote was referring to animated movies. No one's saying American movies aren't as original as Japanese ones - they're saying that animators in America are still just pandering towards kids.

  • congratulations.

unlike tubedup909 you can actually understand english.

"their american counterparts" is obviously referring to american animators / directors of ANIMATED movies.

  • @Numai4z Well I'd say that in Japan it's more socially acceptable to watch cartoons as adults, therefore animated films with the same seriousness are discouraged.

  • @Numai4z *cough SOUTHPARK cough*

  • @Numai4z I do think it acctually sais american animators are kids compared with Japanese animators, and I would totally agree

  • the people who thumbed you down did so because you misinterpreted the quote completely. indeed, as namai pointed out it is not referring to american films in general but only to animations. (although i would argue that it holds true to all film and that list you posted fails to impress me but thats another matter)

what american animations have you seen that come remotely close to paprika and other in terms of complexity and originality? I cant think of a huge number can you?

  • i had to take a double take on that comment and wait until i stopped crying from laughter to type.

    *wipes eyes and chortles*

Spirited Away (written by Hayao Miyazaki) IS a Japanese Animation.

It was RE-DUBBED in english by Disney over a year after its japanese release , they had nothing to do with production in any way. they simply bought the distribution rights for america and hired voice actors to re do the audio track in english. nothing more.

  • Are you stupid? Spirited Away is a Japanese animation too. Sadly , brought to America and dubbed. Have you even seen the movie? Because the names in the movie are Japanese. Studio Ghibli ring a bell? The whole setting and everything in the movie is pure Japanese. My god, you really don't pay attention.

  • Or that fact that those movies are irrelevant to that saying. They are talking about ANIMATED movies. Not live-action.

  • Hipster shit. List some good movies and then maybe you can talk.

  • I already did. Why don't you watch a couple little boy.

  • No you didn't. You listed overrated, hipster shit. Try again.

  • Alright then. Oldboy, The Graduate, Magnolia, Dr. Stranglove, 8 1/2 / Man Bites Dog, The Big Sleep, The Deer Hunter, Snatch, Cool Hand Luke, On the Waterfront, Unforgiven, and Metropolis. If you consider any of those overrated, you're not fit to be watching movies :)

  • Okay little Timmy. You're not mature enough to understand great cinema. You think Transformers 2 is Citizen Kane. Also "hipster" means "independent." Are any of those movies I just listed independent? I don't think so. Plus i'll bet you $1,000,000,000 you've never seen one of those movies I listed. You go back and watch more Twilight, and let the big boys watch the good movies.

  • Don't group me in with the mainstream trash just because I don't like your shitty hipster movies.

And hipster doesn't mean "independent". It means over-stylized, pretentious shit.

    Learn yourself.

  • No you're wrong, yet again. You're an obvious troll judging by your hateful comments on your YouTube channel. You're desperate for attention so i'm not gonna give you the satisfacton. Have fun acting cool on the internet, faggot :P

  • Typical Youtube commenter.

Can't form a proper rebuttal, so you resort to calling me a troll. That's pretty much why there are so many hateful comments on my page. You children can't take being wrong, so you take your anger out on those who one-upped you.

  • Man Bites Dog, that's a good one. i'm inpressed you know that film. That film is AMAZING! Never heard of Cool hand Luke before... You like it??

  • this movie is freaking awesome!

  • Thanks for putting it in widescreen format.

  • Dzisiaj obejrzałem, nice :] Właśnie zassałem Tokyo Godfathers Satoshiego i teraz ściągam Memories^^ Powiedz Sandruś jak te chapy naruta? Chodzą?

  • Fajnie się prezentuje, musi być ciekawe :D

    Myślę, że warto obejżeć.
