The monster attacking the car and waving it around is homaging to THE BEAST FROM 20'000 FATHOMS (1953). Even the footage of the man in the car is taking from that movie.

cliches up the ass, cliffhanger for a sequel that never was, people looking into the camera, what great fun!

Very funny and entertaining, just like the film it was featured on. Hopefully they'll put this back in if Matinee ever gets a Blu-ray release. Thank you for taking the time to put this up on YouTube, for those of us too cheap and lazy (in my case, anyway) to look for the out-of-print laserdisc!
