I have transferred so many of your tips and tricks to my drumming arsenal. You make learning fun, and you are a great drummer! I have been drumming for over 30 years ,but always trying to learn more. Thank you sir.
I am glad you are genuine...So many vids are with speed freaks full of themselves and they make me nervous and un interested. I will check in to more of your stuff...thanks for being a drummer about it all instead of a arrogant prick super star.
Handy to know this. I'm tryin to self-teach on this kit at school. I can use this...very useful, cos my fills are usually the basic of snare snare snare snare hi tom hi tom med tom med tom floor tom floor tom floor tom floor tom crash!
also John Bonham did the same fill, as a 4 stroke ruff at the end of Rock N Roll. Cool time, too man. I hate it when drummers do fills but dont incorporate them into a groove.
haha sick dude. this is the awesome stairway fill. bonham as! but yeh i also know this to be called a 'bucket fill' i dunno why its called that.... anyhoo nice teachings. :)
Van, some of these 'posers' are big a holes and probably can't even keep a beat. Keep posting because you have a lot of great ideas and we enjoy how you present them.
Hey, great video! I've heard of this 'RLRF' fill called "Takin' A Dump", just because when you play it, it fits with saying "Takin' a dump". Just thought you might want to know. (:
K umm I get frusturated because I can play fast except for the bass drum i feel like i need a double bass but cant afford it do you have any ideas or videos on speeding up my bass kick
yea theres many beats you can do that will help you at the bass drum just as simple as playing" left and right hand, foot, foot" ... also some people play with their heel up and if you practice with your heel down it might give you more speed after a while of getting used to it.... i would only recommend buying a second bass drum if you mastered everything and you need something else to play on...
If your goal is to play double bass drums, get double pedals as soon as possible, cause the sooner you learn to use your left leg the same as the right the better. Don't listen to people telling you to wait. That's like playing only with your right hand for a couple of years and then bringing your left hand into the mix, then trying to match them together.. It's just a bad way of going about it.
Get a double pedal. Steal one if you have to :P just get one.
i suggest you use heel toe technique, its easy if you have the right bass pedal, or small feet ^^_ my feet are a little big so i just stick to double kicks, but since they are big, i practice moving them faster like doing a double kick sounding bass just with my toe, idk how i do it i just do though, just practice mainly and you will get it ^^_
he did it very well, but that's actually very simple. it's a sic stroke roll. "Rllrrl" check out the video from user "downview" for a better explaination! cheers! hope you can practice and do something that awed you soon!!
Yeah Seamusceagan i'm pretty sure Bonham highlighted his use of that technique in a small fill in Stairway to Heaven. Somewhere after 4 minutes in i believe.
