I think the only reason they tolerate this is because obviously Marlo has taken over everything. All the drugs are going through him, he has all the muscles, all the psycho guys are on his side.
He couldn't shut down the co-op unless he basically held all the power. He probably had so many soldiers and gun and muscles that the rest of the co-op was just a piece of shit to him. None of their crews could come near to stepping against his fire-power without being decimated.

The reason why everyone hates Marlo is cause he doesn't respect anyone or anything. Nor does he care. You're right though, a fucked up childhood and the will to survive made him the man he is. Maybe Marlo doesn't respect anyone or anything because he doesn't trust anyone or anything, so maybe it's not just pure evil. And i don't think we quite see that same 'family' aspect among Marlo & his people as we did the Barksdales - which might be that Marlo always sleeps w/ one eye open

Marlo is a total mutant. The game is all about power and control for him. For Avon it was about respect. For Stringer and Prop Joe it was about the money. But Marlo doesn't care for neither so much as he is able to dominate and control everything around him.

@avonbarksdalewife They didn't have the heart or the manpower to do it. Marlo's crew had more muscle than the rest of the crews combined. That was the whole reason Joe brough him in the co-op to begin with. Remember when they were having problems with the New York dealers? They needed Marlo's muscle to take care of that.

I think the only reason they tolerate this is because obviously Marlo has taken over everything. All the drugs are going through him, he has all the muscles, all the psycho guys are on his side.
He couldn't shut down the co-op unless he basically held all the power. He probably had so many soldiers and gun and muscles that the rest of the co-op was just a piece of shit to him. None of their crews could come near to stepping against his fire-power without being decimated.
