will any water based spray paint work? cuz i can't really find anything that specifically says "foam safe." i've just been usin acrylic paint n a brush which is a pain...
Unfortunately, not all water based spray paints are the same. Most ace hardware stores carry the Krylon H20 brand stuff. You could also try a test piece with the paint you want to try to see how it works. Cheers ~ James
instead of the bass wood spar could you laminate two wing panels with Henrys weave and spray adhesive for rigidity? or would that add unnecessary weight.great video
Thanks for the question... On my latest version, I have done just that. All you need is some foam safe CA for the bond of the two panels. If you take a look into my folder, you will see that version, with ailerons. Still only using 2 channels. The build is essentially the same, but not spars.
@FangarJim why not using a foam board? foam covered with paper, very hard to work but you get a nice rigid plane with no basswood or carbon rods, of course, dont exagerate on wing area, dont ask me why lol
Not familiar with that motor, but if you already have it, give it a go. Looking at the specs, a 7 inch prop is not recommended. It is also 3 times as much as the one I use. Good luck.
wow you have lots of patience!

Why basswood instead of carbon fiber?

Hello there. Basswood for me is very easy to get. Carbon would work great as well. Cost is quite a bit more too. Cheers!

What is the small black square piece on the fuselage? Is that foam? Or is it the whole motor mount?
Thanks, Chris

Yes. The black square piece is a 3/16" plywood motor mount. I sprayed it black with paint.
