The americans had the control of the ALLIED troops, they did not control the Red Army, they were racing to get to Berlin before Stalin, but they couldnt. The allies did SHIT, the germans had 600.000 men on the western front and 4.000.000 on the eastern one. The most bloody battles in HISTORY took place on the eastern front, been Stalingrad the most gruesome.
