Thank you Rev. Billy & the Church of Stop Shopping. My husband and I stressed about all the gifts expected by nieces and nephews though money is tight and most things end up as detritus around the house, broken, or ignored. So, on Christmas Day, we released ourselves from the fear, went to 2 of our favorite restaurants and got carryout to share. The adults ate Greek and Ethiopian food (sharing our enjoyment). We later spent quality time with the kids, a couple who really needed it. Thanks again
5 stars to Laura Newman, Monica Hunken, & Paul Rondeau, this is a great vid.
Much thanks & praise to Reverend Billy, The Stop Shopping Choir, and The Not Buying it Band for keeping it clear to me that holidays are celebrations for family & friends, that consumerism & materialism, which are of no value, have no place at the holiday table.
I've been celebrating Buy Nothing Day for over twenty years, and I've never even bought a single present on the day after Thanksgiving. Going into massive consumer debt is no way to celebrate the Baby Jesus.
you can tell her in reply why don't she buy a sheep on EID ladhA and give its meat to poor ppl and as gift
n.b. : i saw few seconds of that video i do not know what is it about even i wanted to know more about the day when there are ver big sales in the states

Becoming Muslim is also a great excuse for why you are not celebrating anymore! :D
My grandma tries to convince me of the joys of Christmas. I just say, Sorry Grandma. I'm Muslim.
