@ALKUKES It's very difficult, even professionally, to fake a limited depth of field. The concept of the background and foreground being blurred out while the focus is distinctively on a specific distance could cost you hours in post rotoscoping and using a variety of variable blur effects.
@ALKUKES the problem is that the computer can't tell how deep your footage is. As far as most programs are concerned (with the exception of AE CS5) it's a flat image and any standard attempt to bring focus to the subject blurs out everything.
I just made my own for under $11! I tried many things as focusing screens: wax paper, rice paper, plastic from folders, but your plastic bad idea works the best! Thanks!
you do that in post production. or if you built a rig that has your camcorder hang upside down... then no changes needed! but either way, when you shoot, the image will be upside down on the lcd. so you can use an external monitor and flip it upside down.
It's basically same as the user name "drjassvideo"'s technique. Do a youtube search under "How to build a static 35mm adapter".
Instead of using an extension tube, I am using plumbing adapters from a local hardware store. And, instead of a plastic folder, I am using a grocery bag. I hope that helps.
Looks good! :) although the lens or GG looks a bit dirty to me, and it seems u have the 'Wet paper look', that might be dissapear by letting the ground glass vibrate or rotate quickly? Or is it the youtube compression?
Yeah, my "Ikea plastic bag filter" was really dirty. Next time, I'll cutout a cleaner area. And, yes, a vibrator or a rotator will make it better. But, I'm trying to find the cheapest way to do this. Thanks for the comment!

tape a mirror over the LCD screen so you can see your composition the right way up when shooting

I don't understand this technique. Do you have any pictures?

Nice for the price! I think if you use a focusing screen you will have less vignetting.

Yes, I agree. Next time, I'll be using it. Thanks.
