Last time I saw a gorilla in a zoo he threw a massive turd at me (maybe a political statement, maybe he just didn't like me...who knows) but this film would have been so much better if old Kong started heaving handfulls of stinking shit at people. I bet them planes circling the Empire State Building would have fucked off quite sharpish!
This is the second remake of a legendary film classic and for all it's poured on sentimentality and CGI pizazz, it still doesn't match the magic of the 1933 original. The real story of KING KONG (to those who know) is about unrequited love. The girl rejects Kong and we're sorry for him because of that. When that's changed, we're left with the standard "Beauty and the Beast" story or MIGHTY JOE YOUNG - not KING KONG.
I have been viewing the scenes. If you pay attention there is a constant focus on him defending his realm and always being challenged. Everything from the Allosaurus/T-Rex to the bi-planes. It is all a culmination of hard work to defend his "world." He finally met his match in New York.
Kyle911x, it doesn't seem that your viewing the scenes, but listening only to the music (which is very beautiful), but the full effect comes from viewing the love between Kong and his love.
@bugdozer59 haha of course i'm viewing the scenes..The motion control work is Brilliant!(I LOVE the *love* between Kong and his *love* obviously hehe..really touches me)..the music is sooo sooothing&emotional for me..as i lost my mother a year ago, and she loved this as well! Wonderful and beautiful music. His eyes tell the entire story of having to constantly stand up to adversity. He is tired at the end and seems to welcome his demise. Truly a beautiful portrayal of the King Kong love story.
I love this music. It's so beautiful! The ice skating part was probably ONE of my favorite scenes in the whole movie. The scene showed beauty and love, and that Kong had a soft side. Love James Newton Howard; he makes very beautiful music.
where can i find a video of him fighting the airplanes like 2 minutes before the fight starts and 2 minutes after it ends! am always trying to find a video from that scene that that long
