I hate when I have to fly to Washington D.C. because their are so many restricted airspaces.

This runway is built on a swamp so there is water on either side of it, run out of runway and your floating in the Potomac River.

great coverage, really breath taking. i take it this was a 737?

we were in dc over the labor day w/e and took the DC Ducks tour and was "swimming" along the potomac towards the end of runway 1 "northbound", it was awesome seeing the planes takeoff

i never knew the airport only had 1 runway, they have enough land to construct a second, why not, right?

You can just barely make out the other crossing runways in the top of the frame as it approaches the airport. This is the main runway used though.
