looks like it starts on the ELDEE arrival and you turned in at about 10DME. I work at PCT and clear guys for this approach all the time (mount vernon visual)
thank you for posting these great aviation videos. They are the next best thing to being there, which in some cases, in the cockpit, usually isn't possible.
I do believe that during the presidential inauguration Delta was flying 767s into there. Surfing around the net, I have found that that wasn't the only occasion!
When i was younger around the age of 9 and 10 i would visit my aunt, and she has a condo in Arlington, Va. and everytime we viseted i used to watch these planes comeing in all the time, I've always wanted to be a pilot.
i ve never been a huge fan of flying but this helps reassure me that there is in fact people in the cockpit who know what they are doing and want to land safely.
As always another great video from Airboyd (thank you!). Hey, how come just before touchdown we don't here the altitude indication, "SIXTY, THIRTY, TEN" on this one? Is that something you can turn on and off?
great coverage, really breath taking. i take it this was a 737?
we were in dc over the labor day w/e and took the DC Ducks tour and was "swimming" along the potomac towards the end of runway 1 "northbound", it was awesome seeing the planes takeoff
i never knew the airport only had 1 runway, they have enough land to construct a second, why not, right?
Very nice! Reminds me of flying from Reagan up to JFK with all the turning right and left in the intensely crowded airspace in that corridor. Thanks for posting.
I made this same landing in an Airbus A319 on US Airways!

This runway is built on a swamp so there is water on either side of it, run out of runway and your floating in the Potomac River.

Not as fun as the Kai-Tak-like landing on 19, but still fun. At least I got to take off from 19 flying back home. Two words; DC ROCKS!

Dear All,
I have some question about psychology:
*why do we love flying and being in the sky?
*Why do we relate flying with our full potentials and with our successes?
*Why do we use the phases "take off" and "fly high" as a kind of adjectives to describe our success of our hard working?
*Why do we used the word "runway" as a expression of optimistic future of a person/ a team?
*Why do we relate aviation with freedom?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm.

You can just barely make out the other crossing runways in the top of the frame as it approaches the airport. This is the main runway used though.
