I played guitar in the early version of Edgar Winter's white trash with Jerry LaCroix as our primary singer in 1963, we had 6 horns( including Jerry on Tenor) Edgar did the horn arrangements, Jerry was about 19 at the time, Jerry was the most soulful singer I ever worked with in my 50 year music career. No offense to David or Al.
Jerry is in poor health and needs the prayers of all his fans.

@hamhockdoc Jerry Lacroix did a great job on this tune as did David Clayton Thomas. However, as a music lover you can appreciate the original while still giving props to a great singer like Lacroix .
I know Al Kooper wasn't in the band that long and no disrespect to David but Al sung this song better. David is a very remarkable singer and he did help launch B,S&T in to the stratosphere. But Al's version of this song is better. I wish there was some footage out there of Al doing this song with the band
Comparing DCT w/ Al Kooper on this particular tune is like comparing Lady GaGa w/ Aretha Franklin.

Al Kooper had a ton of more emotion in the original than this poop,

Gotta agree. Thomas was there for the biggest hits, but I think Al Kooper was a better singer on this one.

アル・クーパーの熱唱も感銘深かったが、デヴィッド・クレイトントーマスのボーカルもまた素晴らしい。この演奏があること自体知らなかった。貴重な映像である。
