i seen Irv Wagner once at a brass convention at Oklahoma University and he was all like ( I'm gonna go out here and start playing some SICK trombone solo and then he like kicked off his shoes and started playing an even better solo with his feet and he's like slapping his spoons everywhere playing a duet) I was like OMG! he's now inspired me to play trombone with my feet while I'm playing my guitar with my hands. =3
Having seen him do this 3 times already, this is still absolultely amazing. I'm glad I live RIGHT next to Norman and play trombone. Anyone who hasn't seen him do this up close, you're really missing out.
Trust me, if you get the chance to see this live, DO IT.
I just saw him today, he came to Moore High School and was conducting the OU trombone choir (which was AMAZING btw) im real sad we ran out of time so he couldnt do this bit for us :p
well doc is of course, but i was talking about stevetrmbone, who strikes me as a tremendous ass. at least he had the decency to remove all his comments.
We had a concert today in Norman too!!Except it was for COHO(Central Oklahoma Honors Orchestra) We played the same song and he did the same thing!! It was awsome. I play the viola. Thanks Dr. Wagner for conducting us. I had alot of fun. It was alot of fun!!!
And you're who? He's a showman, but he's also a serious player, arranger, composer, teacher, and a good guy. Do you think he's looking for kudos for that bit? It's strictly for the crowd. If spoons and toes gets people to sit through a concert, go for it.
I'm a trombonist from Oklahoma and got a chance to meet him. He'a a cool guy, and I respect his talents. He even did this. It's a lot cooler in person.
I've actually done a few shows with him... I wasn't in that one because I don' tplay any of those instruments, but I have done a few singing shows that he played in... we are actually quite good buddies... I also know the guy filming... what you saw there was a fraction of what he can really do...
He is my uncle and I showed this to all my family today as we were having a family bonding/ meeting. Very cool.

does this stevetrmbone character strike anyone else as an insufferably obnoxious artistic snob?

Irv: You are my kind of guy. Excellent! and all the kids kept a straight face and backed you up well.

This was too fun! I was proud to be a part of that orchestra. That was probably one of the funnest concerts I've done.
