  • I love this song, I first heard it by Eddi Reader.

  • For anyone who knows and loves the Scottish Highlands, this song tears you apart. Thanks for posting.

  • The most under rated band to come out of Scotland in the last 20 years, superb stuff !

  • ahhhh........ Thank you for this beautiful post! :-)

  • Hate to be morbid here - but i would love this to be played at my funeral.

  • @jwdsnapper Not morbid at all. That's kinda beautiful. :)

  • What a song ! John Douglas is such a great writer and I've only just discovered him after going to Eddi Reader's gig the other night. And those Readers - I love them.

  • @Ramonapele Same here, went to see Eddie - was blown away - but after mentioning John & the Trashcan sinatras , I thought I would buy their latest album 'In the music' - i'm now a huge fan, hope to see them someday in this country.

  • this is love, this is anarchy.

  • Was doing some work in the garden yesterday and was listening to my Ipod. I ALWAYS start by putting this song on first. It wasn't until i was finished what i was doing that i realised i had put the song on repeat and had listened to it 46 times in row without noticing. It is a mark of a great song that I didn't get bored of listening to it so many times without noticing.

  • I really love this song, because my friend played it for me at the best day of my live *-* I <3 u :*

  • I first heard Eddi Reader singing this with the Scottish National Orchestra - the original version is so much better

  • It is worthy of note that the Trashcan's lead singer, Francis, is Eddi's brother. Not relevant as to which version you prefer, but still interesting.
