@maydayfire Dude, it's a model so we can visually understand it. Spacetime itself is a 4-dimensional entity. What you saw in the vid is a 2-dimensional perspective of a 4-dimensional entity. Now, space doesn't bend DOWN. That's just a 2-dimensional view. In reality, spacetime bends towards the center of gravity from all directions.

I had an idea just 5 minutes ago...and I'm only 15 so i may be WAY OFF..but hear me out..i was thinking about warp drive. so i thought of space-time distortion. whereas to distort space-time so that it shrunk (similar to that of near a gravitational field). but i realized that gravity itself could not create such a distortion to even make a difference. Gravity doesn't enter into the warp equation. What happens is that a warp bubble is created around the ship, it actually stays still. Space/time is then "bent". Black holes swallow light once INSIDE. . When black holes pull matter in, the matter is heated to high temperatures before it falls in. The X-rays and radiation are created due to those high temperatures and escape the pull of gravity. Out side the event horizon everything still has escape velocity.

Actually no scientist would ever say that. When approaching the singularity you would be torn apart. You will keep being halved even past the atomic level. Not crushed but torn apart. You could actually make it closer to the event horizon of a super massive black hole than a stellar mass black hole. The tidal forces are much weaker in a super massive letting you stay whole for about 7 seconds longer. Don't try to prove someone wrong by presenting equally false evidence.

According to a book I've read recently, Einstein believed that black holes could actually serve as a portal for time travel. Simply because they progress at such an accelerated speed, that once sucked up into one, his thought is that you could maneuver your craft in such a way to stay along the rim of it and depart out the other end.
