@MattSVK1 I wouldn't say that, I just listened to time is the healer, and he sounded good there, but here he sounds like a singer on Dancing with the Stars or something
Most lead singers tend to lose their voice as they get older. But to read this trail and find that some of you believe that Glenn Hughes can't sing??? Sorry, but that's a bit difficult to fathom. Check out "Deep Purple - Burn" and watch Glenn playing bass as he outsings the lead singer (David Coverdale).
Years ago I heard a live recording of Soundgarden playing the music to "Into The Void" note-for-note with Cornell's own lyrics and melodies overtop... just sayin'
@DaemonBlackrazor It was a cover, and it wasn't Cornell's own lyrics, it was a speech by the Native American Cheif Seattle is named after. The name of that song is Into the Void, it isn't like they tried to hide the fact that it was a cover.
@DaemonBlackrazor Not specifically; but when there's an argument going on whether SG rips off Sabbath or not, the context of the situation makes your comment appear as though Soundgarden was just ripping off their sound, putting different lyrics to the song, and passing it off as their own.
@DuaneGib Don't get confused man, I'm a big fan of Sabbath and Iommi and I know Soundgarden based his early sound (only the drop D tuning) in Sabbath but this a copy cat song and sorry but that it's not justified.
@CrushJehovah This song came out 5 years or more after Searching with my Good Eye Closed. I think the only thing relatively similar is the singing rythem, and the fact that it's heavy but passive at the same time. Soundgarden's final album had come out by the time this song was recorded, and had moved on from their basic riff style a long time before then. Soundgarden is not a rip-off of anyone, however, they do take from several influences, Zepp, Sabb, and Beatles are among the obvious.
Wow..... I hope we can all be singing this soon for Iommi's quick recovery from lymphoma

Gargantuan guitar tone!

This is unlike anything Iommi ever did with Ozzy or Dio. It's in a world all unto it's own.

This guy has always been able to sing......terrific inflection in his voice.
This particular one sounds like Living Color to me....I can picture corey taylor singing this...

This singer is a multi-tasker, he can suck at singing, write bad lyrics, and can make an awesome guitar player sound bad.

For some reason, the vocal on this song reminded me of Prince. Great CD that unfortunately went largely unnoticed.

@Eifler121 Cool... although; it was obvious what song it was... I didn't say they tried to pass it off...

Two of the finest musicians this planet has ever produced. I just want to thank both Iommi and Hughes for this.
