  • Raven is my hero. I was at Narconon Los Angeles for four months in 2006. I was on a 1,500mg per day dose of Niacin. I now have stage one liver disease. They never took blood tests (LFTs) to monitor proper liver function. They just didn't care. All they cared about was saunas and drilling us with auditing and cramming TRs. Fucking Scientology.

  • people got to narcanon and they ask for huge amounts of money for a treatment program, they just start drugging them and slowly recruit to scientology.

  • I am close to someone who went to narconon and about 80% of the other people they went through treatment with have relapsed and/or are still currently on drugs/alcohol.

  • What I've never understood about Narconon is:

    Why would I pay someone the, reported, $30, 000 to go through the same cold turkey that I could go through on my own?

    If I were going to spend that kind of money I'd get put to sleep and have a rapid purge detox in the hospital or, better yet, I would pocket my 30 grand and do the Trainspotting Sick Boy detox at home as it would be about as effective as a sauna and a supplement.

  • What addict has 30 grand to spend? The kind with rich parents who will do anything to see their kid get clean and will also be willing to front for $cientology courses when they get out rather than see them go back to using? Hmmmm...

  • The same rich parents that would pay for their Scientology courses as well lol.

  • Thanks for your efforts.

    continue=win

    stop=fail

  • Win! The thing that most of these people don't realize is that it's not the program that keeps them sober, it's THEM! Having met people who were products of the Narconon program when I was getting sober, they seem to be addicts for life, using their program in place of their drug of choice. A lot of recovery programs tell you that if you leave, you will be worse than when you came to them. That kind of fear keeps people in line. AA does the same thing. Perfect recruits for the SeaOrg.

  • If it's not a physical or medical intervention program eg. methadone maintenance, rapid anesthetic detox, then it's akin to jingling your keys above the head of the addict to keep them distracted while they go through the same cold turkey that they would otherwise.

    Where Narconon becomes dangerous is exactly in the point that you make: They offer Scientology as the new drug.

    If those had been my only two options when I was getting clean, nstc, I would have stuck with the opiates.

  • This is why.

    Scientology the most ethical? Masters of communication? Irrefutable? Then why do they send angry people to yell and make false accusations?

    Seriously: get a clue, cult.
