  • for me it says unable to access jarfile

  • Guys, instead of typing the thing in cmd just save the text document as "minecraft.bat"

To save it as .bat is important.

Then u can just open the file you just created.

  • thanks

  • So Angry birds on the screen. :D

  • @jusbmx it says java virtual machine not found, what do i do?

  • it says "javaw is not recongnized"

  • ummmmmmmmmmm, wtf please respond. it said that my mine craft is invaild? help

  • javaw -Xmx2048m -Xms1024m -jar "C:\Users\Your User\Desktop\Minecraft.exe"

to change the amount of ram do i change 2048 or 1024?

  • @JKTCGMV13 Either one 2024 is 2 gig and 1024 is 1 gig

  • Any suggestions on how to increase the RAM on Ubuntu/linux 11.10???

  • @TheRaizer101 HI im a linux user myself and the best u can do is get a cpu tool that was used in precious versions,i dont remember the name of it but you could change governors for how much cpu u would whant to use,not so shure of a ram managment tool but im shure the ubuntu comunity should come up with one in the future :)

  • it says ''javaw is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file'' someone help me plz??

  • What does this exactly do?

  • Easiest way to do it is create a shortcut on your desktop for the minecraft.exe. Right click and go to properties and crtl+C the location then paste it in the end of the command above.

javaw -Xmx2048m -Xms1024m -jar "Paste here"

then just save it to a text document on your desktop. When you want to launch with more ram just copy that and paste it into command prompt. Easy Peasy.

Xmx = max ram minecraft will use, xms is the minimum it will boot with. I'd leave xms at 512 personally

  • 2048 i mean on Xmx

  • what is the different between Xmx and Xms? cause you ave 2024 Xmx and Xms 1024

  • error: Unable to access jarfile C:\Users\my nick\Minecraft.exe

  • @killzoLT do you have the Minecraft and not the MinecraftSP?

  • @Criptonix999 well i got that where you can force update and write a nick name and thats it. (cracked mc)

  • @killzoLT do you have the minecraft.exe in the users folder? and you mentioned jarfile, sure its not minecraft.jar?

  • "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" for x32 bit (less than 4GB only)

    and

    "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" for 4GB+ (x64 bit)

  • Error: Invalid or corrupt jarfile

  • For Bigfootedboss'es problem try..

    Windows 7:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx2048m -Xms2048m -jar "C:\Users\USERNAME\Desktop\Minecraft.exe"

    WindowsXp (i think):

    "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx2048m -Xms2048m -jar "C:\Users\Jared Johnstone\Desktop\Spoutcraft.exe"

If this works Your welcome =D

  • HD? that takes more ram D=

    lol.

  • @Locomikey666 Change the "Your user" to your actual user.

  • invalid or corrupt jar file..

  • You can also save it as a .bat file

  • It opens a CMD window and closes it real fast and it doesnt do anything...
