Okay, one, you have to use a terminator at the end of your chain. Two, I wouldn't advise using XLR. XLR and DMX are different, mainly in the resistance. Three, if you don't really know what your talking about, please don't make a video on the subject. At least read up on it first...

@syncmaster710n14 in the professional world, the most scan and moving heads need a 5 pin connection. The 5 pins are for:

1. Signal Ground

2. DMX Negative

3. DMX Positve

4. & 5. are empty but sometimes, it's used to give power to lamps or for return sending and autopatching.

So, the new lightning commanders, like GrandMA 2, all only have a 5 pin DMX connection, because the new lamps, from Martin, High-End all have 5 pin.. and sometimes old ones too.

@twanschipper Oh, I just wanted to know because I have 6 older Martin scanners that have the 5 pin, but they only have the input so I was not sure how to daisy-chain them, any ideas?

I have a 3 to 5 pin dmx adapter but I can only use it with one light so it is kind of pointless.

@syncmaster710n14 yeah, you could use a thing called a DMX-booster.

It has the option to put in 1 DMX-5pins and 4 or more DMX-5pins out.

So that means, 1 DMX 5 pins cables from lightning desk to booster and 4 DMX 5 pins cables or more to the lamps. Thats the only option I think, or you should buy a couple of 3to5pins converters.

@syncmaster710n14 Thanks for that, I have been looking in to buying a booster or splitter but it is not urgent as I have a set of acme genesis that I normally use, I just wanted to DMX the martins as i have had them a long time and would like to be able to use them in a new DMX system rather than just stand alone like I use to do.

Nice try but why do u fuck it up? Keep the camera stabile by puting a tripod under it or put some weight on it. Please stop fussing with the focus. If u cant handle the camera put it on auto. If u go a little slower maby people would understand u better.. Thanks for trying and we like it, but we would love it if u made it a little better. Good luck
