  • That's so funny. I'm a classical musician, but an idiot about music literature still. I knew he wrote the trumpet concerto, which is not so easy to find. When I googled it, I kept running into this piece.

I decided to give it a listen...

YOU'RE KIDDING? HE WROTE "HELLO MUDDA..."?

I'm glad I can openly admit my ignorance in front of a bunch of strangers like this. It makes learning much easier.

  • @InsertName125 I have been an opera fan for most of my life and I know MANY operas, and I love most of them. For what it is worth, La gioconda, the opera from which this ballet music comes, is perhaps the greatest musical/emotional "tour de force" I believe to be experienced. When I listen to it, I can barely contain myself. It is one of my very favorite operas.

  • @InsertName125 My favorite recording of the entire La gioconda is a live one with Caballe, Carerras. Be SURE to get a libretto so you can follow a word for word translation.

  • @InsertName125 (one last thing!) If you can find the studio recording of La gioconda with Cerquetti and Del Monaco, it probably contains a libretto and it is also a great recording! Happy listening! I hope you can hear the whole opera.

  • Siempre que escucho esto, sonrío:)

  • I remember when I was a kid I listened in some radio and TV commercials, part of the last 2 minutes of this composition and I loved hearing. Great memories of my childhood with this musical composition!

  • WONDERFUL! Definetly a masterpiece!

  • Comment removed

  • @esraretin non-emotional piece? get the fuck out troll

  • @Mike1245690 my perceptions change so much this is wonderfull

  • nothing compared to jay-z

  • Una musica soave e leggiadra

  • It's impossible to hear this nowadays without thinking of Allan Sherman or Spike Jones.

  • Pitcalco and Daywalker683 :

Of course... And Charpentier, Rameau, Adam, Auber, Boieldieu, Méhul, Berlioz, Gounod, Massenet, Saint-Saëns, Bizet, Delibes, Debussy, Ravel (I stop here, no place enough), and strangers but who made FRENCH music (Lully, Glück, Meyerbeer, Offenbach...), all that, it's really nothing near this unbelievable masterpiece of all times ever : "The Dance of Hours"... (nice little thing for a music box).

    Ha ha ha ha ha....

  • me gusta :)

  • that song remember me to Charles chaplin!!

  • @mariayrage It is not a song, not all the classical compositions are songs.

  • Italy is by far the best country for music!

  • @Isuecon04032010 Please, no chips on shoulders. Just enjoy the music.

  • @pitcalco I agree.... Italy and Germany has the best classic musicians....

  • @Daywalker682 I see you have impeccable taste.

  • @Daywalker682 hey, don't forget about russia... what about tchaikovsky?

  • @pitcalco

Not for all kind of music!!

  • @pitcalco Italy WAS by far the best country for music...

  • @pitcalco WAS.... unfortunately... Italy WAS the best...

    :(

    now they are ruining everything...

  • @scab182 IS for classical music, I should have written. I don't listen to pop music so I wouldn't know what they are up to these days.

  • @pitcalco oh well atm the "mozart of 2000" as he was called is Giovanni Allevi... listen to something on youtube... and well tell me if it is comparable to the real Mozart... ok that is considered the best in "classical" sector.. now here in italy...

  • @scab182 I have just been listening to a few selections. Allevi is excellent. I especially like Prendimi - Evolution.

  • @scab182 Allevi isn't comparable to Mozart at all!! He's just very good at seconding the market... and he is considered the best in Classical sector just by ones who don't knows the classical sector. His music is very enjoyable, but not classical...

  • @pitcalco im italian and your comment make me happy, for once my country is famous for something positive lol, thank you dude, and hellyea, beatiiful song
