According to today's standards, yes this fighting scene is the worst fighting scene ever, but back then people weren't ready for fast paced action we are used to today, of course now a days even 60 year olds can often enjoy a fast paced action film, but like in the 50's most of the time they wouldn't show someone being killed violently or at least not in detail such as showing a robots shadow hitting two men shadows together showing the robot hit the two men together resulting in death and...

Later in the episode it is actually revealled to be a communicater for the two to communicate to better understand one another.

Yeah, I loved this episode when I first saw it about ten years ago, but looking back, I have to admit that this is one of the worst fight scenes from a TV show. I'm not prepared to say that this is the absolute worst fight scene ever, but compared to something like Sayid vs. Keamy on Lost, this is not a good fight scene at all.

Of course, the Gorn suit had it's limitations, but I thought it worked. The Gorn is very strong, but he's lumbering, which is why he sets up the trap later for Kirk.

Okay, why would the lizard guy attack an unarmed opponent with a piece of wood, and then five seconds later, stand aside and let him get back to his feet after knocking him down? Also, if Mr Lizard (assuming it was a Mr), was strong enough to lift and through that boulder, then why was he unable just to crush Kirk when he had a good grip of him? I know it's petty, but those inconsistencies annoy me.
