  • @twiztidup why did u turn down the general he is a very key part to the show but i must admit i do like gangster 2 :) im playing lois/bianca in local production of show

  • Not within hailing distance of the movie with Keenan Wynn

  • sphere

  • Performing this with a friend for camp! It's so much fun!

  • i love this song

  • before i die i wanna play this and the phantom !

  • The older gangster isn't even singing most of the time. It's distracting to me. I love this song, though.

  • my two friends did this song

  • Darling skit!!

  • i saw this play but it was way better like they danced rlly funny

  • @sspdirect02 I totally agree! whenever I see it that's all I can think about!

  • I used this phrase while watching Jeopardy, just out of the blue, and I had to look up the song :P

  • we are going to see the play today it looks funny

  • Our Shakespeare Prof. is having us watch this. It's funny!

  • see kiss me kate at nfct in long island it has my brother in it and he is a gangster and his/ our freind and they are much better than this if you don't beleve me but they are great not them so please and they are much funnier!

  • @Baldpiece101

i was a gangster in kiss me kate, an i was AWSOME!!!

  • @danielandmanuel whatever you say!

  • me and my brother performed this for a broadway musical this past friday. it was a lot of fun.

  • Originally a 1948 musical comedy.......

  • If you can't get the original, well, this is brilliant. A keeper.

  • Lovely movie with great soundtracks!!.....Hmmm..."BRUSH UP your Shakespeare.......and the women you will wow...and they'll kowtow". Thanks for having it shared.

  • the gangsters are my favorite characters......theyre sooooo cute!!!

  • this was filmed in 1999 and in the south london theatre. it was west end.

  • they arent as funny as other versions but their diction is some of the best ive heard

  • my god our guys made these guys look like a joke and there in highschool ill have avidio of them up soon you should check it out ill probably have it up by friday (hopfully)

  • I am not sure if these are the exact same guys from the Reivival, but I believe this was taken from a production that was on PBS and is available on DVD. It is excellent. Another thing about this number, it proves beyond doubt that Cole Porter was a master of the clever lyric.

  • Saw this in London twice when I was a teenager. These two were fantastic!

  • They are good, but no one beats Keenan Wynn and James Whitmore from the movie....the singing AND dancing!

  • Agreed! They were the very best, but sad to say, I can't find their rendition here.

  • I saw this in London in '02 and I specifically remember these guys, they stole the show. I don't know if they played Broadway as well (as the title suggests) but I know for sure they were in London.

  • love it. my high school is doing kiss me kate this spring and im hoping to land a role as either one of these guys or paul

  • @Masquerade2010

My High School is also doing this play. Even if I'm backstage, it's pretty funny. This is my favorite song in the entire thing.

  • Dear God, this is so hilarious!!!!!

    I miss performing Shakespeare.

  • That looked like the Victoria Palace London???? not Broadway?

  • it's called scenery. This could be anywhere.

  • I saw the Broadway Revival, and have the cast recording...I don't remember these guys at all.

  • i'm doing this song as a skit with my friend in the fall too haha

  • my highschool is doing this this fall.

  • same here

  • what high school do you go to?

  • its in illinois

  • Haha, one of our mobsters was a woman xD but i thought it was a guy :P at first

  • haha I'm a 5'2 girl and I'm playing the 2nd mobster in the school play. That was the role I wanted more than any of the others! I'm so excited! XD

  • We hada woman play one of the mobsters in the show i stage managed a few years back. It worked well.

  • I saw this at Music Theatre of Wichita and was much better than this one! One mobster was probably 5 ft and the other 6.5"! it was hilarious. They turned around and two spotlights appeared on them, they threw their hands above their heads! Such a great show!!!

  • i watched that one too :DD

they did so good in that one XDD

  • I'm glad you said this Oscarbuzz.. Those guys were amazing to work with. They were just as amazing backstage as they were on stage.

JIMMY BRENNAN - great director. Enjoyed working with him. Really proud of the MTW CAST and Crew...

Hopefully you are coming back next season. Going to be a big one :)

  • this from 1999 london revival

  • i was in this play in my city! my tiny city..

  • (continued from previous comment) "Cantiamo D'Amore" "Kiss Me, Kate" "Too Darn Hot"** "Always True To You In My Fashion"** "Brush Up Your Shakespeare: "I Am Ashamed That Women Are So Simple"** "Kiss Me, Kate (Reprise)" KEY: ** = Like the most. Kiss Me Kate <3
  • My school is doing this as well.

We had to cut scene 2 though for a reason I'm unaware of.

    My favourite numbers are:

    "Wunderbar"

    "So In Love"**

    "Tom, Dick or Harry"**

    "I Hate Men"**

  • i have to sing this for drama class!

    wtf im a girl

so i sound like a homo creeper

hahha i like the song though

well when these guys are singing it

  • It's called acting.

  • But obviously not a lot about writing, or professionalism. Perhaps you will learn that along the way. From someone with a doctoral degree, and you are welcome.

  • @abatey That much was obvious from your pretention.

  • ha ha (: our school is doing this show right now

we had a show last ngiht one tinoght and one tomo

my bf plays one of the gangsters :D

    lol

  • do you go to Acalanes?

  • closing night = awesome.

  • Pitiful. Didn't begin to rival the movie version with James Whitmore and Keenan Wynn.

  • Wonderful number!! Wow. This is part of a recording of a live performance, right? Is there the whole thing, or only some parts? I'd love to watch it.

  • haha, never mind... Already got my answer.

  • start quoting him now

  • when i watched this i was thinking, i wish it was abbott and costello singing it,

    pretty much what sspdirect02 said

  • What a meany! Do you know how gorgeous this lady is?

  • wow, I was in this in college and I had no idea how much the director and choreographer just ripped this off from this production. good thing though, I dont think I could have handled anything more complicated.

  • Fantastic!

    Great business. Such fun :-)

  • I saw this duo at their final Broadway performance in Kate. Not only did they stop the show, but the show was stopped for them - - it was announced it was their last performance, and they came out for bows - - a very special Broadway moment for me.

  • i saw this at central catholic high school funny show

  • Hell yeah CCHS!

  • I picture Abbott and Costello singing this!

  • @sspdirect02 I would've LOVED to see that!

  • @sspdirect02 The moustachioed fellow does quite resemble Bud Abbott, now doesn't he?

  • Im auditioning for this show with this song. Im watching it over and over again so I can get the accent right.

  • As ever, the show stopper.

  • Great job My father di a version of this in highschool he os better though

  • he's better than two actors in broadway? okay, if you say so.

  • Ah, what a good show. I did this over the summer and we had a few guys for these parts who, in my opinion, were better than this. ~Faves~

  • My school is doing Kiss me Kate this year. I hope I get in!

  • W8 what school do u go to i am doing Kiss Me Kate this year 2!!

  • Man, this was so much fun to do performing. Good thing I was cast for Gangster #2 instead of the general. >.<

  • @WWFdxNWOrules5555 Funny, I just auditioned for this show and was offered the role of The General (which I turned down.) They counter-offered with Gangster #2, which I happily accepted.

  • Good? This performance is Too Darn Hot! Very cool duo, timeless!

kick her right in the Coriolanus!"

    Best. Line. Ever.

Let her sample your Measure For Measure!"
